The Grand re-opening is the 17th May.
It will coincide with Lite Nite http://www.lightnightliverpool.co.uk/ It is going to be another big event.
It will be massive, just like the opening of (Grosvenor-pool) Liverpool One and the mess that is the new museum at the Pier Head that destroyed the World Heritage Site. The PR stunts are being dreamt up now for the big launch the mis-truths are being written as we speak, press releases being compiled. Jon Egan the property developers moll is probably even doing them.
The BBC will be there, the washed up Roger Philips will be telling all his thousands of listeners how wonderful it is.
The Ghost and Echo will be doing quadruple page spreads about how great it is....without really thinking the thing through as usual.
The Council will be proclaiming how wonderful it is for Liverpool how amazing it is for the world.
What they wont be telling you is that we have sold 30000 books to make way for an internet Costa cafe. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.co.uk/2010/06/liverpool-library-to-sell-off-30000.html
Now thats Culcha for yer!
They wont be telling you how Warren Bradley and Co sold the Library to a private company in a lease back deal.
Remember those dark days in the 80's when Derek Hatton & co tried to sell off the Town Hall to the Gnomes of Zurich .
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.co.uk/2009/10/liverpool-central-library-violation.html We wrote as long ago as 2009 on the topic of selling off some of your prize assetts to the highest bidder in a lease back deal that was agreed by Executive Council....which was Warren Bradley and his three mates and Colin (Cover up) Hilton the then Chief Executive. Was the convicted councillor Steve Hurst on the committee once
We had a billion pounds of European Objective One money that we doled out to PR companies and Miserytravel to not build the trams and then we have to sell off our libraries. Well we say sell off most of the low profile ones are being closed so Joe Anderson can pay for his PR Guru's £90,000 a year wage bill.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.co.uk/2009/11/liverpool-central-library-is-to-be.html
The Library refurbishment was first reported by Vicky Anderson for the Daily Ghost without a whimper of the impending doom for all the books.
So now the Great Dictator Joe Anderson and the Labour Council are going to milk this tragic event for all its worth.
Come back Derek Hatton all is forgiven.

Warren Bradley-You Liar
Warren Bradley who sold out the first tranche of the world heritage site has been charged with perjury.
It is claimed a tragedy by some local commentators. But the real tragedy is that we had to endure this dispicable character for years.
Is it true he was placed in power by Clever Trevor Jones and Mike Storey so they could do what they want?
Picture Warren Bradley "I tell them this long"
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/excouncil-leader-warren-bradley-fined-for-perjury-7575640.html Here is what the independent has to say.
Bradley defended the other criminal at the Fib-Dems in Liverpool when he was convicted, Steve Hurst is now a outcast. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.co.uk/2009/09/councillor-steve-hurst-steps-down-good.html
Oh! and Whatever happened to Bernie Turnip.

The Henry Pooley Gates Return-Can We Have The Sailors Home Back Too?
I stumbled across the unveiling ceremony this morning for the Henry Pooley Gates which was part of the old Sailors Home that was demolished in a savage act of civic vandalism when the building was, in not too bad a state of repair.
They were just about to pull the curtain and it was fair turnout.
Now I am getting sick of people harking on about the past, yes I hear you thinking, what are you saying, but it is true that once the past has gone, what can you do about it?
Me and my valued colleagues at the LPT have fought for the future not the past.
But, I am sick of looking at old sepia tints and listening to people with a sad lamentation of what we once had...........while doing nothing about it.
http://www.liverpoolmonuments.co.uk/gates/pooley12.html
The Dockers Umbrella crowd don't seem relevant to me anymore, harking on about how we lost a little treasure, that in reality was an eyesore and was falling down and needed demolishing anyhow.
If you cherish your past you will have a good future, of that I am sure.
We fought for the future, and preserving what we had was to have been our goal, look at the World Heritage site destroyed and weep.
Those Heritage Wallers waffling on about our history while too lazy to do anything about it are of no use to themselves, they will, of course, be out in droves when the last surviving carriage of the Dockers overhead railway is put in the new museum.
We tried to save the Manchester Dock Gates from a act of vandalism by of all, the Liverpool Museums, who are supposed to protect our heritage. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/manchester-docks-obliterated.html
They are now promised, by the Museums Director to be restored and placed in the new Museum of Liverpool. Lets see, shall we, after the very museums, JCB, smashed them to bits.
So, on a personal note is it a good thing or a bad thing that the Pooley Gates now seem to look out of place next to John Lewis and appear as a monument to a past tragedy that should never have happened?
Should I be thinking is this a good thing that we have spent a fortune reinstating them while care homes close and those inner city's re-ignite?

This picture was taken 1oo yards from the newly reconstituted Pooley Gates last night, as there were more riot police turning out to protect our streets from those vandals who have no respect for property.
While their city council trashes their own areas such as the Welsh Streets, creating Warrens "War Zones".
Is this a new use for the term "Gated Community" where we become a heritage theme park while a hundred yards south the Heaps Rice Mill a listed building lays rotting, and the Police protect Grosvenor-pool and the Dukes Fiefdom.
50 yards the other way, past the awful looking Liver Street Car Park, that the last Unesco mission of 2006 described as truly bad, where the memory of the Mole of Edgehill, is insulted with a awful bit of Jerry building, by a drunken bricklayer, if that's what you could call him, as it is, an insult to drunken bricklayers.
But its alright the local press say so.
While over in Duke Street the rot continues, while Malcolm Kennedy, Liverpools cabinet member for Regeneration (code for Peel Holdings) and Joe Anderson will be today taking the plaudits for the Pooley gates while doing nothing for the Wellington Rooms or St Andrews Church.
I cant make my mind up really, it seems on balance they are better being there, just, even if they serve as a monument to a horrendous past mistake and provoke thoughts of how Liverpool, as a city, is continuing in the same heritage tradition of showing disrespect for its past.

Liverpool Looting Their Own Community?
And its looting by the very council officials that are now empowered to clean up the "War Zones" that they trashed in the first place with a lack of respect and disdain for the people in their own area. You wont find this in the local press who turn the disturbances into an advertorial for Grosvenor.
A Council boss who described government cuts as "severe" and "daunting" received more than £2,000 a day for 39 days' work - equivalent to an annual package of more than £400,000.
Ged Fitzgerald, then new chief executive of Liverpool City Council, received salary and pension contributions worth £80,936 between February 7 and March 31 this year, according to the local authority's accounts.
The accounts also show that the outgoing chief executive, Colin Hilton , received £113,175 in salary for just two months in April and May last year.
Hilton also received £30,000 as "compensation for loss of employment" and a bonus of £26,396.
Eric Pickles, the local government minister, last year called Liverpool council "out of touch" after it advertised for a new executive at £197,000 a year - £50,000 more than the prime minister earns.
When told of Fitzgerald and Hilton's pay this weekend, Pickles said: "Good Lord. They had said they would be paying less to their executives."
Shortly after joining the council in February, Fitzgerald spoke publicly of the "whirlwind" he faced as the tried to balance the local authority's books.
"I don't think anybody really knew the size and severity of the challenge that we had around our budget," he said. "I literally .... sat in my office of the best part of a monthly with a calculator where only the minus button was working. It was very, very challenging.,
"I have every sympathy for all the members of staff .... It took us a lot of working through to balance the budget, and £91m out of a usable amount of £400m was a really big, daunting challenge".
A spokesman for the council denied that Fitzgerald was earning a salary of £400,000 a year, but was unable to confirm the true amount.
Matthew Sinclair director of the TaxPayers Alliance, said: "These eye-watering pay packages at Liverpool city council are a disgrace at a time when there is so much pressure on the finances of the council and the families who ultimately pick up the bill.
Taxpayers should not be asked to accept austerity on the front line but still see a gilded age in full swing in the town hall."
Colin "Cover Up" Hilton who was hand picked by Mike Storey and Warren "War Zones" Bradley should be paying a fine for the mess he created as Chief Executive allowing a billion pounds European Objective One Funds being squandered.
All three of them were responsible for the Cruise Liner 'Jetty' Cock Up and the trashing of the World Heritage Site...........And whilst not condoning the disturbances what has happened to these people for allowing the destruction of huge areas of Toxteth such as the Welsh Streets.

Warren's War Zones Ignite.
Where has the respect gone?
What is wrong with society when the Police are taking back'anders off the corrupted press?
What is wrong with society when Matrix officers are sacked by the Merseyside Police for having a total disrespect for the people, be they goodies or hoodies, that they represent?.
What is wrong with society when a City Council destroys its own people's hopes by creating blight in whole swathes of Toxteth, Anfield, Norris Green etc, etc? Degenerating huge swathes of the city.
While others are dole-ing out millions of pounds of European Objective One funds, y'know the billion pounds that we had to enable us to clean up those "Inner Cities" after the Toxteth Riots of 81.
While its alright for a Council to destroy a neighbourhood such as the Welsh Streets, its certainly not if you live there and are at the end of your wits, watching your father duck and dive because he hasn't got a job and has no prospect of one, got the wrong postcode and no education.
Never got an apprenticeship, never got a look in on the billion pounds that went into a new museum on the waterfront and blocks of flats that you cant live in.
What happens when you can't afford to shop in Grosvenor-pool, that was looted from the people of Liverpool, err I mean given away to a lovely Duke to add to his already sizable fiefdom?
What happens when your MP is a hopeless waste of time.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/04/louise-ellman-dame-of-dereliction-time.html
Well I don't condone any of the violence that were called riots, by the local press to sensationalize it all.
http://condensedthoughts.blogspot.com/2011/08/dealing-with-distortion.html
Correspondent calls it a distortion of the facts.
Most of the local press are about 12 years of age, and they got a chance in life, what do they know of poverty, some of them even went out of the office this week.
But they don't have to get "sussed" everytime they go out for a new sim card. Blame the parents, blame the schools. Blame anyone but yourself at Trinity "Smoking" Mirrors of Oldham Hall Street, filling pages with rubbish about how we are in a new dawn, a new age of prosperity spoon fed through from PR people such as Jon Egan and Larry Nield. While ignoring the true situation.

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/10/6-sir-thomas-street-every-right-to-feel.html
What of the vandals of 6 Sir Thomas Street http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/10/6-sir-thomas-street-every-right-to-feel.html or Josephine Butler House in Hope Street.
Are they no better than thugs?
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/no-hope.html
I have already written on these pages of my own experiences during the Toxteth Riots.
My current adjacent shopkeeper owned the newsagents in Granby Street where it all started.
You would have had to have been there believe the state of Toxteth with decades of neglect. Why is it still a War Zone 30 years later?
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/06/louise-ellman-mp-dame-of-dereliction.html
So the so called rioters attacked Lawrence Road, believe me this is a poor area and why?
Why didn't the FibDems invest in the area, instead of creating War Zones, now on fire, in Toxteth, that, Ironically Warren Bradley the ex FibDm Council leader, who is a fireman and drives an appliance, would have been called to put out.
Did he actually extinguish the burnt out car in Princes Avenue in the picture above?
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2011/04/warren-bradley-resigns-and-then-is.html
What happens for the future, Joe Anderson has to condemn the lost causes on the streets the other night that the Police sorted out (In reality it rained like stink).
Yes I would like to put most of them over my knee and tan their arses, but you know what would be better.......give the poor hopeless bastards a job, let them train as a joiner or a bricklayer so they can gain some self respect, so it never happens again.
How can we respect hem if they don't respect themselves.

Mike Storey-The Boomtown Rat is Dumped-Good Riddance.
The only thing is its ten years too late to get rid of the caniving(in my opinion)little monkey. He who sold out our world heritage site. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/09/city-has-been-run-by-spivs-and-gamblers.html
My Opinion is he was A spiv for any developer who wanted to throw any old shoebox up. Good Riddance. http://blogs.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/dalestreetblues/2011/05/liverpool-council-election-201.html Today he and othe Liberal Democrats get dumped.

Remember his mate Steve Hurst http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/09/councillor-steve-hurst-steps-down-good.html Following in the traditions of Fib-Dem Spivs http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/09/trevor-jone-steps-down-good-riddance.html
His spawn Warren Bradley has now gone too. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2011/04/warren-bradley-resigns-and-then-is.html
Now Storey will not be able to sit on the planning committee.
Just what was his relationship with Bill Le Breton of the then October Communications, now Aurora Media? One high profile and openly gay Liberal councillor said "how can we trust someone who dosnt even tell his wife the truth about his own sexuality"
48 Listed Buidings lost to Fib-Dems http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/05/liverpools-liberal-democrats-destroyed.html
This is the end of the sadest era of Liverpools architectural past and its destruction of its once great architectural legacy that was blighted by shower of Fib-Dem Cowboys who were in with every dodgy developer this side of Chester. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/09/trevor-jone-steps-down-good-riddance.html They all did more damage to Liverpools Heritage than the Luftwaffe.

Mann Island-Liverpool's World Heritage S*ite
Paul Vickers from Radio 4's Beyond Westminster programme came into my shop to interview me about the Mann Island Development Friday last.
They will have to edit a section when I slipped up and called it Liverpool's World Heritage S*ite. "What have they done he said none of it was there last time I was in Liverpool" he said, "Now I am supposed to be impartial, but"
"Tell me about it" I said.
The programme is about the governments plans to relax the planning laws, to simplify them.....I had to laugh.
This development was covered by A World Heritage Convention and Liverpool's inclusion to uphold its principles, A conservation area act status, planning guidelines and considering the amount of listed buildings there its consent, oh and the framework for the protection of the Conservation areas. "Only the system is corrupt" I added "When you have spivs such as Fib-Dem leaders Trevor Jones and Mike Storey and their now defunct puppet Warren Bradley running the system you don't have a chance". I hope they leave that part in.
This is the latest building to go up Y'know they knocked Steers House on Chavasse Park down, one of the most hated buildings in Liverpool, and they built Steers House opposite only 15 storeys higher.
Where is the common sense in that.
Liverpool's planning laws have always been streamlined for Neptune Developments, Rob Mason, a director used to work for the council. Steve Parry may be on the programme it will only be a 10 minute slot at 11.30 am on Saturday morning.
Lets hope they show the corruption in the Liverpool planning system up for what it is. And lets hope there are a few M.P's listening and one of them thinks to tighten up the planning laws and keep corrupted councillors with sticky fingers and their local PR companies..........the local press out of it.
And let the public have their say, give it an equality of arms to fight the likes of this bad systematic destruction of a once proud assett.
Below is a BBC Merseyside link. This is what we had to say at the time of the planning application passed on a casting vote by the Lady Doreen Jones who was the English Heritage Historic Environment Champion, and Trevor's wife, at the time. http://www.bbc.co.uk/liverpool/content/articles/2006/03/14/capcult_regen_mann_island_feature.shtml
Oh and remember what it looked like.
We had it all and a hand full of corrupted councillors sold it.

Warren Bradley Resigns And Then Is Suspended-Good Riddance.
To say Warren Bradley is as thick as two short planks, really is an insult to the planks.
Plonked in his position as a facilitator by Mike Storey, now Lord Storey, who also had to resign for dodgy tactics, and Clever Trevor Jones, we have had to endure this stupid man for far too long. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/09/trevor-jones-and-hole-in-ground.html

Good Riddance
From: Warren Bradley
Date: Mon, 18 Apr 2011 11:51:54
Subject: Media Reports
Dear All,
I write to you firstly to outline the media headlines today and secondly to let you know of my plans.
I have today been accused by the media of putting my sons name forward to stand for election, without his knowledge, and then to underline my intention I spoke to the press as if to reaffirm the fraud.
I cannot say too much at this stage for obvious reasons, but to inform you I totally deny this allegation and am seeking legal advice to that end.
Secondly, although I fully intended to stand down this May to pursue my fire service career, I will be with immediate effect standing down as the Leader of the City Council Liberal Democrat Group (hooray I hear from some); lots of things have happened during my 6 year tenure, mostly positive with lots of support from the majority of members, but sadly there have been people who have continuously undermined me in the position, something which has been extremely illiberal, something I am not used to, and something I understand that has driven them to help with what they have today, sadly involving my son.
In conclusion, peoples private lives should remain just that, unfortunately some senior members in our Group do not feel the same. Can I give a gentle prod to whoever succeeds me in the position to ensure they have the total support of the majority of the Group, without that, life will also become as miserable for you.
Sincere apologies if this issue causes you more electoral problems (I think the national party have already done that - but I am now the scapegoat!), it is the last thing that I would want. Electioneering was never about me, but the Lib Dems in Liverpool, it is such a pity the same cannot be said for some.
I will still be around pounding the pavements as a true liberal, standing up for ordinary people.
I will also be collecting subs, leaflet bills and other outstanding amounts because life goes on. so if you owe, get paying!
Let us start afresh as a united team, (stop leaking information that makes it more difficult for us) to crush those who are the real enemy - our political opponents.
Thanks again for the opportunity.
Regards
Warren

Regards
Warren

Liverpool Pathfinders-Left High And Dry
As Correspondent points out its not only The Daily Ghost who recycle the same old nonsense.
While yesterdays front page at the Daily Ghost said how wonderful it is they are filming an advert for the Range Rover here, now it maybe is good news, but front page?
Its a tale of two cities in Oldham? Hall Street. http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/ldpbusiness/business-local/2011/03/07/liverpool-to-star-in-global-range-rover-launch-92534-28289161/
Yesterday the BBC showed a report on the disastrous Pathfinders scheme on Merseyside where now the least able in society are left high and dry by mismanagement and dare I say Elizebeth Pascoes self effacing campaign to show herself as some sort of champion for the people.
I have never subscribed to this or to all the complimentary gestures made by architectural mercenaries and bandwagon jumpers such as Trevor Skempton and the rest of them, including Jonathan Brown at the Merseyside Civic Society.
These areas need regeneration, a more careful approach was needed to care for the vulnerable section of society but work needed doing to create areas fit for living in todays age.
It was always going to be a mess with Warren"war zones" Bradley leading the way.
He drives his fire engine around Toxteth putting out fires.......with blinkers on to the plight of his fellow citizens.
While the middle class upstarts at SAVE Britain's Heritage do all they can to upset as many people as possible, and further their own publicity machine.
Click on the BBC report and SPARE A THOUGHT FOR THOSE TRAPPED IN THE QUAGMIRE OF GOVERNMENT BLUNDERING THAT WAS IMPLEMENTED BY A INEPT COUNCIL LEADER, THROW IN A FEW MIDDLE CLASS TWITS MASQUERADING AS URBAN WARRIORS AND IT WAS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A COCK UP.

Liverpool's "Dodgy Planners" and Beetham Tower.
How can the Liverpool City Council pass plans for a massive tower block in the world heritage buffer zone, on land, that the Land Registry wouldn't allow the flats contained therein in to be registered, because there is a flying freehold that should never have been considered suitable for building a tower on in the first place.
How come the city council allowed the developer Beetham to build over a highway.
Right from the onset of Liverpool's new found wealth, well, the ponsi scheme created by the council and its Liverpool Vision cling-ons funded by the North "Vested Interest" Development Agency, Mike Storey, now Lord Storey, was there giving our land away. Beetham Plaza which was Wilberforce House, was gifted to Beetham.
This plot was originally sold to Betham as a area for landscaping for their original boring tower.
The Fib-Dems even scrapped the City Councils Tall Building Policy to accommodate them and Grosvenor. I GAVE A COMMENT TO THE DAILY POST ON HOW OUTRAGOUS IT WAS THAT MIKE STOREY AND WARREN BRADLEY COULD DECIDE THIS.
What about the WHS buffer zone.
So given the garden adjacent his first erection, for a peppercorn, what does Hugh Frost, a client of mine who seemed, like a gentleman when he came in my shop, do.
Bungs in a planning application for a 37 storey tower on a plot the size of a postage stamp and Liverpool's Dodgy Planners say, Yes that will do nicely.
Now I am not saying there is any corruption going on, or has gone on, well not in public anyway, but it just goes to show the complete lack of stringency that should, have been adhered to, that seems to have been relaxed to accommodate a developer in this case.
Is there corruption in the City Council and its planning department?
That is a question I was asked three times this week.
I refused to answer while I am building up a file, that is in depth, you see unless you keep your eye on the ball what goes past you with the slight of hand of a magician is bewildering.
And Beetham must have thought they had pulled a rabbit out of the hat when the, apparent, oversight of being given some land for, it was reported £163,000 turned int the price someone would pay for a broom cupboard in the flats. They even said Micheal Owen had taken a penthouse.well Larry Neild said so as city editor, creating this illusion of respectability and desire around it. It was later raided by the drug squad.
Charles Hubbard the vice chair at the time of the Merseyside Civic Society, whose son worked for Beetham handled the negotiations to save two listed cottaged in the shadow and on the grounds of the then proposed tower.........clever.
If there has ever been a waste of space, its the MCS.
If I recall Doreen Jones Liverpool's own Dame of Architectural Disaster, and her brief (for decades) Rex Makin walked out of a St Georges Hall Trustees meeting because Beetham had given £200,000 to the fund to restore the hall........how strange.
Then it all went wrong for Hughie and (estranged) Son.
Faced with not being able to register the properties he couldn't sell them on and his assetts sat losing money, because Beethams gearing at the bank was stacked the wrong side.
Now put the tower has now gone into administration and we the public are owed £750,000 by Beetham or one of its offsetts.
Last week it was reported that;
LIVERPOOL council officials are set for urgent talks with the administrators of the city’s West Tower over £750,000 it was due to be paid for “fresh air”.
In 2008 Mapfield Properties agreed to buy a patch of land and airspace beneath the 40-storey tower from the council.
Mapfield had been unable to sell luxury apartments in the skyscraper after the Land Registry refused to register potential sales because part of the building overhangs 36 square meter of public highway.
Mapfield – part of the wider Beetham family of companies – decided to buy the land in Brook Street to resolve the issue.
But the deal was never completed and the council has not received any money.
Now Mapfield has gone into administration the council faces a new round of negotiations with administrators Grant Thornton.
A council spokesman said: “We haven’t received the money from Mapfield.
“We have been negotiating with them. We were attempting to get a deal. But Mapfield has gone into administration.
“We are meeting the administrators early this week.”
Beetham originally bought the land on which the West Tower stands for just £163,000 in 2003 from Liverpool City Council. The deal led to an outcry over whether the council had got the best price for the land.

I had predicted this would happen some time ago. Trying for towers and generally building them as in Manchester with its massive Walkie Talkie whistling tower..I......ts behind you.

Southwark council the subject of a Beetham planning application issued a statement in March 2009.
It said;"At Southwark Council, we give a great deal of thought to the benefits very tall buildings actually bring to their local area. As a council with a large landholding, we understand the advantages of tall buildings in the right communities, but we will not allow something that gives Carte blanche to developers to build very tall buildings where they are not appropriate."
Then it seemed they had got out of the mess.

I wrote over a year ago about a strange comment Nigel Lee Liverpools Chief Planning disaster made, just how well did they know each other and why were they allowed to get away with this.
At a recent Architects Journal sponsored conference at Liverpools Crown Plaza hotel chaired by the obnoxious Paul Finch who was the editor of the Architectural Review and has far too much say for such a bad mouth attitude.
Nigel Lee Liverpool's modern day answer to the Luftwaffe speaking during a power-point presentation showing the mess his troops have deployed said and I quote
"Beetham have the biggest tower in Liverpool at 37 storeys high they also have a massive tower in Manchester and are planning one in London...the guys got a problem with erections, and all this because he has a little willy"
Not sure how he knows but this was in front of a packed room full of £435 fee paying delegates from all over the country.
I looked round as the room cringed. Can he really get away with this.
What about Liverpool Vision, or lack of its, roll in all this that Joe Anderson was on the board of at the time.
Oh and all this happened right next to the Daily Post and Echos headquarters....didn't anyone there look out the window.
AND SHOULDNT THERE BE A FULL INVESTIGATION INTO THIS TAWDRY AFFAIR.

Joe Anderson-Sitting Far Too Close To Frank McKenna.
Frankly, I don't like the relationship between our elected council leader and a Spiv. In my opinion, everyone knows him as a spiv that is what he gets paid for, to ease his fellow businessmen into little tight holes that may be hard to get to otherwise.
The Council leader should be above this sort of relationship with local business men, especially those with a dubious history. They should not be holding hands under the table.
It could be that, in my opinion, ill thought out relationships makes him ignore bodies such as English Heritage, and he may try to jib the planning procedure in a rush to help property developers, as it appears is happening with Peel Holdings.
Mr Anderson should be aware that a public inquiry should be called for over Liverpool Waters.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/06/dlib-in-skip.html We will make you an offer you can't refuse his advertising says showing himself as the Godfather,
Billy Quiff more like it, anyone can pay a few girls to link you to kid people you are liked, Frank.
McKenna himself says
Frank McKenna was a young Skelmersdale politician with the world at his feet. Chairman of the North West Regional Assembly, leader-elect of Lancashire County Council, he was destined for a safe Labour seat in the House of Commons where a ministerial career surely beckoned. Then rumours of election fraud surfaced in satirical magazine, Private Eye, forcing him to resign from public office. After a £3 million police investigation, the judge threw out the case but his political career was over. Now he is back in Lancashire as the head of Downtown Preston in Business – a high profile lobbying group which is sure to create waves. Editor Andrew Calvert went to meet a man who is remarkably sanguine about his experiences. When you are awaiting trial on fraud charges, your chances of finding a job are somewhat limited. “There’s not a lot you can do other than work for yourself,” recalled McKenna, reflecting on the events back in 2001.The sharp-suited, fast-talking Scouser had never been short of contacts in both the public and private sectors. A public affairs consultancy business was the obvious choice of a new career and McKenna was soon winning work throughout the North West.
He had built a reputation in Liverpool for his work with property developers on planning issues and came up with the idea for Downtown Liverpool in Business. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/06/frank-mckenna-suckles-at-breast-of-joe.html
Here is how he promotes himself, Is it James Bond, Basildon Bond, Brooke Bond, or Jenny.
MORE LIKE IT.
Just who does this fella think he is? The editor of the local paper. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/03/frank-mckenna-unofficial-editor-of.html
Joe Anderson said "Frank started Downtown Liverpool in Business then he took it to Preston.......now all we need is for him to do Downtown Manchester and then we will see the back of him".
Ho, Ho Joe, very funny but don't you remember the Derek Hatton days.
When it was thought uncool, or just plain not right to give favours to local spivs. Far too much council land and favours have been given away to local businessmen. Wilberforce House to Beetham for £120,000 by the Fib-Dems.
Derek Hatton was in court for it was reported, the city council, allegedly slicing a piece of land, that is now one of the main routes into Grosvenor-pool not far from the Beehive public house.

Today's Daily Ghost has a interview with David Cameron, though it doesn't say who interviewed him, strange.
Incidentally it was David Bartletts predecessor Larry Neild a card carrying member of the Labour party who was reporting most of Liverpool's Militant era, wrongly. It was not the local press who found out about the then unofficial council leaders business interests but the Sunday Times, right under the noses of the lazy bastards at the Echo, or where they lazy, was the deceit of the public rife and they accepted they didn't have to report but, make it up, to suit themselves,
And Lodge Lane still lies in ruins 30 years after the Toxteth Riots.
Joe and Frank are both very close with the Dame of Dereliction Louise Ellman, who now Lords over Toxteth.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/06/louise-ellman-mp-dame-of-dereliction.html
In fact, was it not Frank McKenna who was very close with her during those dimly lit Skelmersdale days, that we still don't know exactly what happened and wont as all the local reporters are about 12 years of age and don't have a clue how to do research, or may not be permitted to.
So is Joe Anderson a chubby version of Mike Storey and Warren Bradly, seen here with Mike Hanlon of Maghull Developments, who knocked the facade off Josephine Butler House, in between cocktails. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/06/well-its-hahnerman-house-again.html

The local press, The Trinity "Smoking" Mirror Group, need to get their house in order and instead of allowing all the same mistakes to be made again, get their own house in order before they pass judgement on the local political scene.

6 Sir Thomas Street-Every Right To Feel Hacked Off.
Yes this was the sight that greeted Warren Bradley from his office overlooking the building.
"I wondered what all the noise was" he said to Larry Neild, then working for the Daily Ghost, as the shysters, Iliad hacked off the front of the facade, of a perfectly good building, with a Liver bird crested portico.
While it was being considered for listing by the English Heretics.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/heres-one-they-did-earlier.html

Bernie Turner, whatever happened to her, she is now sidelined, well she always was on heritage matters. Watching while it all went on around her, while she was supposed to be English Heritage Historic Environment Champion. A title she inherited from Lady Doreen Jones.
So all is well that ends well, I suppose.
Look what they have put in its place, a disgrace.

They needed to line the floors up from the old Municipal Buildings frontage on Dale Street World Heritage Site. That had been sold to Iliad by the very same council that is charged with protecting our assets. The then Liverpool Spiv-Dem council and its cronies, what a joke, couldn't they have made two stairs to line up the floor heights. Couldn't Nigel Lee have advised Iliad in one of his frequent meetings with them that they cant mess with our heritage. He told me he asked Micheal Hanlon of Maghull Developments not to hack off Josephine Butler House, that is his involvement with developers, or should we say hackers.
Couldn't Steve Corbett from the Liverpool Conservation Office(sic) have stopped them. No this is Liverpool we destroy our Victorian facades, one of the last remaining full and complete Victorian Streets in the city.
Doreen Jones, who did more damage than anyone in this city passed the plans in an Orchestrated planning committee Manoeuvre, while Steve Hurst the criminal tried to question me for trying to save it.
That man had a cheek alright.

Save Stanley Park, It Is Not A Piece Of Yankee Real Estate.
So it looks like the Yanks will lose £146,000,000. Its not enough. These American, err businessmen who cant even get on with each other have ruined the proud Liverpool Institution, our history our heritage, unless you are a cheeky Evertonian monkey that is. Now with Broughton pursuing a new set of Yanks with all the same promises it looks like curtains for the Hicks and Gillet partnership. So with a new set of promises on the cards it is worth stopping to think what is the future for Liverpool's Stanley Park. It looks like Joe Anderson is no better than the Spiv-Dems and will offer our land to the new owners a Grade II listed Park with which to build a stadium with a supermarket. Yes as Proffessor Chucklebutty noted the new phenomena of John, Paul, George and Tesco. http://profchucklebuttychronic.blogspot.com/2010/07/another-330k-for-liverpool-day-at.html Yes it is big news we all want Liverpool FC to be successful but Save Staney Park. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/9080946.stm
We need Parks just as much as we need Stadia. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/10/save-stanley-park-get-hicks-and-gillett.html It is not a field to give away to anyone who knocks a couple of hundred million into the Royal Bank of Scotland.....that we own. As shareholders we all need to get on to the directors and tell them what you think.
Its not right to Spiv a park to anyone that promises to build a new pitch. THIS IS A-FIELD, no its not its our park get your mucky hands off it. The Anfield residents need looking after and helped not robbed by council worse than bag snatchers taking away the heritage of, my area, the place I grew up. Even the Daily Ghost is doing a piece on the plight of the Anfield residents that how bad things are there.http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2010/10/11/anfield-residents-have-mixed-feelings-over-liverpool-fc-ownership-battle-92534-27445184/ Warrens "War Zones" Bradley has a lot to answer for. I recently had a couple visit me from Santa Fe they used to live in Chicago, they got lost and ended up going through Anfield on a match day, they were not impressed. Give the people of Anfield and Everton a chance restore their area, and their pride, give them good houses, with a kennel for the bull mastiff and they will be happy.
Save Stanley Park Its not the Joe Andersons to give away.

Save Stanley Park-Get Hicks and Gillett Out, Now.
Grade II listed Stanley Park has been bandied about as sweeteners for any new owners of Liverpool football club.
Liverpool football club have been assisting the decline of this part of Anfield for decades as long as I can remember by buying up all the adjoining roads.
Hicks and Gillet who stand to lose £146,000,000 if the current deal to wrestle control away from them is successful were sweetened with the gift of Stanley Park by the Spiv-Dem councillors Mike Storey and Warren "War Zones" Bradley.
Remember how they tried to give Kings Dock to Everton F.C, whose move to Kirkby looks a bit fragile. Nigel Lee, Liverpools Chief Planning Disaster, an Evertonion, said publicly that Goodison should be listed.

There has been some good work done the Isla Gladstone Conservatory in Stanley Park was restored and opened with a bang and looked like it was ready to be a corporate hospitality suite for the prawn sandwich brigade if Stanley Park was stolen from the people it belonged to. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/07/henry-owen-john-same-old-english.html
I grew up a mile from the ground, I used to mind the cars in my street on a match day. It was my first job I took it seriously. I stood on the Anfield terraces as soon as I learnt how to kick a ball in the cobbled streets of Anfield. Tony Hately, Tommy Lawrence I could tell you the 66 team even now without a hesitation. I was there when Shankly walked around the pitch in his famous red shirt when we won the league.
While minding cars, my job, I could hear the Terrace cheers and I could tell you the score, sometimes it was a little confusing, the cheers between a goal and when the meat pies arrives but I gradually got used to them. I grew up with Liverpool F.C.
Liverpool is in my heart.
Liverpool as a city, well the red side, minus the cheeky Evertonian monkeys, http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/11/cheeky-evertonian-monkeys.html needs Liverpool F.C to be successful.
Get these con-man Yanks out.
At the same time lets try and stop this Stanley Park land grab and redevelop Anfield.
We need green space as much as football stadia.

Once bitten twice shy, as they say. That being the case, the caution & scepticism with which Liverpool supporters greeted this morning's news of the club's sale (http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/oct/06/liverpool-sold-new-england-sports-ventures ) are entirely justified. Hicks & Gillett's objections to the sale only serve to cement their truly toxic legacy at the club; Tom Hicks has pulled off a significant achievement, he's managed to make himself more reviled than Kelvin MacKenzie in the eyes of most supporters.
While it's appropriate to bid good riddance to the two liars, it's also necessary to remember the role played by the club's former chairman David Moores in facilitating their arrival. It certainly hasn't escaped the attention of the Guardian's Richard Williams (http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/oct/06/liverpool-david-moores-sale ):
"The real malaise inside Anfield, however, is off the pitch, and goes back at least to the moment at which David Moores, the former chairman, decided to cash in his shares and walk away with £89m, having sold the club to a couple of American gamblers whose promises turned out to be highly misleading, although it was certainly bad luck for Hicks and Gillett that their acquisition was followed so closely by a worldwide recession."
The liars' "bad luck" may well be viewed by supporters as a dose of schadenfreude to savour.
Throughout their ruinous reign Moores has attempted (often with the tacit endorsement of Oldham Hall Street) to portray himself as just another innocent fan duped by a couple of snake-oil salesmen. Bullshit. Moores pocketed his millions, refusing to even engage with the Spirit of Shankly group when it became clear that the club was in the wrong hands.
Moores is an accomplice to the liars' mismanagement.

Giz' A Film. Jonathan is not Foyled.
Thursday last, Dr Jonathan and his Foyle Lucy Creamer scale the Liver Buildings and tell of its history, and guess what, not a ounce of the lies spread by Liverpool Vision to justify them destroying the Pier Head in the name of Regeneration. The controversy at the time was because it was a cement building and that was so new at the time even though concrete had been around for centuries, Aubrey Thomas the architect was going against the grain, even though Ruskin was advocating steel framed architecture in his beautiful writing, within, The seminal Seven Lamps of Architecture.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/ty5jl/
"You get an amazing view from up here he says of the Parish Church, hemmed in now by modern buildings. Hey what do you think of 60s and 70s architecture, he says to Lucy, as they turn to the Post and Echo Building, (The UglySandcastle) owned by Downing who also owns the Port of Liverpool Building. That great zigarat and the one with the big box on top, I don't think many people in Liverpool would call it Liverpool's loveliest building. That is a version of this building, (Liver Building) You can see the way its made steel frame made with reinforced concrete and then they hung flat concrete bits of cladding, the grandaddy of that is this it shows its DNA, look at it, they have grown up....... and look at its offspring".
They have produced a monster" Lucy says
"You said it" Foyle says. "You said it"
That was as controversial as he got, not mentioning the Terminal Ferry Carbuncle or the three black coffins or the new sun lounger museum.
Then last night was the amazing Morning In The Streets http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/d30nz/
The Liverpool I remember from my Childhood, cold and gloomy, bombed out by the Luftwaffe..........not many scouse accents here though.
If you were looking for rough arsed scousers, Boys from the Blackstuff was up next. The year I came out of my apprentiship there were no jobs to give out. The Spiv-Dems were just being formed Derek Hatton was still in short pants, not yet tailored by John E Monk and Liverpools T Dan Smith was gathering a head of steam in the new Liverpool Spiv-Dem hierarchy. The same bombsights remained, still they continued the damage knocking down the Sailors Home.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/tz49l/
You must watch Of Time And The City Terence Davies much acclaimed meandor through his childhood, and my, memories. The way he laments the changes in the city he left are fine, and mirror so much the losses we have made in the name of the Spiv-Dem regeneration con.
You know what, we had so much we had a rich architectural tapistry, a little worn around the edges, with which we could weave some new modern buildings that reflect our past, our history is our future. This film shows how miserably they with a lack of vision failed. The Luftwaffe started it and Spiv-DemsTrevor Jones, Mike Storey and Warren "War Zones" Bradley finished it off,

The City Has Been Run By Spivs and Gamblers.

Yes that’s what we have been saying for a long time.
But Mr Cable’s pre-briefed attack on unrestrained capitalism – he announced an inquiry into “the murky world of corporate behaviour”
http://browse.guardian.co.uk/search/Politics?search=vince+cable+spivs&sitesearch-radio=Politics&go-guardian=Search All this while Bill Gleeson the Daily Ghost Business editor has turned a …….eye to it all and the editorial stance of the local paper who should have been educated enough to see it all did nothing, playing "push you pull me" with peoples lives and their future prosperity. Watching while Grosvenor sold the Hilton Hotel site, that they got for nothing, where Vince was probably staying for £20 million while the council had a budget deficit of £30 million.
The Business Secretary – often thought to be the unhappiest Lib-Dem minister in the coalition – will promise an investigation into "the murky world of corporate behaviour".
Lets hope he starts with the spivs of Liverpool that have hawked the city assets to,the lowest bidder in the case of Mann Island. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/merseyside/4469378.stm
http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0100news/0100regionalnews/tm_objectid=16412407&method=full&siteid=50061&headline=mike-storey-resigns-today-name_page.html We warned of this a long time ago when convicted polititions http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2009/09/09/convicted-liberal-democrat-steve-hurst-is-to-stand-down-from-liverpool-council-92534-24641192/ were left to hold power…..mates of Warren “War Zones” Bradley and Ex Chief Fibber Storey and all controlled by Clever Trevor and his wife. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/02/grosvenor-pool-putting-co-into.html
Incidently in a empty hall Shirley Williams gave a speech. It was in the 80s that a report by Rob Rohrer of the Liverpool free press that exposed Trevor Jones as a spiv which his solicitor at the time…………Rex Makin defended. He was in Crosby following the newly formed Liberal Democrat campaign.

click on the New Statesman article to read in this above link.
Vince said he did not want to see a return to the darkened Militant era. Well let me say in my opinion, this last bunch of Spivs make Derek Hatton look like the angel Gabriel.
Now all we hear about is cuts to services.
http://condensedthoughts.blogspot.com/2010/09/cuts-community-cant-take.html
So Spivs are us and its all gone unchallenged, well except on these pages.

Trevor Jones And A Hole In The Ground.
The Tory, errr, I mean Fib-Dem conference at the Oldham Echo Arena has brought a spotlight to the city. Warren "War Zones" Bradley has warned they will get wiped out in Liverpool, and they already have. Just over the road from the conference centre is a vivid reminder to what the Liberal Democrats were about. Clever Trevor Jones legacy who mentored Mike and Warren.
A massive hole in the ground in the Baltic Triangle.
He said: “We feel the films will be an effective way to help the Baltic Triangle showcase its potential to a much wider audience.
“The land proposition is similar to the early days of New York’s Meat Packing District or London’s Hoxton – it has that same atmosphere – and, in the same way, I’m sure investors and businesses recognise these opportunities.
I was in New Yorks Meat District exactly 10 years ago and Mr Stienberg is talking bullshit.
Is the same PR company October, now Aurora behind this rubbish. Larry Neild now works for them and why would he not make inquiries into Trevor Jones when he was working for Trinity "Smoking" Mirrors, like his predecessor Stinky Ink Bartlett.
Is there a protector who has shares in Trinity Mirror hiding facts from the public?

A massive hole in the ground in the Baltic Triangle.
It does not seem right that so much is talked about regeneration when Liverpools very own ex-council leading spiv left us with this legacy and buggered off to Chester. I had a London delegate for the conference in the shop Friday last, who recalled The Undeclared Interests of Jones the Vote article in the New Statesman in the 80s.
When I engaged him he said to me "Do you want to return to the Hatton era". This was the Hatton era and all the focus was taken away from Clever Trevor at the time by Hatton and his national attention. Trevor was a big property developer in Liverpool. It is said he had 20 property intrerests in the Baltic Triangle...........and never declared any of them except the ships Chandlers that he knocked down on Wapping, now a hole in the ground. While Lady Doreen was Chair of planning.
"So was Trevor Jones Liverpools T.Dan Smith I was asked.
I wrote to Colin "Cover Up" Hilton the ex CE of Liverpool City Council about his undeclared interests and suddenly against all the run of play he declared 62 Caryl Street in his council register of interests. Below is a google map you will see that a zebra crossing as been stopped up...by the council at that address., just outside the Baltic Triangle.

He also had an interest in Eaton Hall Preservation Trust. Eaton Hall is the Duke of Westminsters pile.
Todays Daily Post carries a headline that a film has been put out to investors in the Baltic Triangle.
Liverpool Vision chief executive Max Steinberg says the area could become a cutting-edge creative district to match those in London or New York.
