Galkoffs To Be Butchered by Liverpool Museums For Liverpool University.

Now that’s not kosher.

Tiled facade of Galkoff butchers in LiverpoolTo add insult to injury University Supremo and ex Liverpool Museum Chairman Phil Redmond has got his mate Liverpool Museum Director and cultural vandal David Fleming to help him in the outrage, by accepting the tiles from the exterior into Liverpool Museums at a time when the organisation has no room and is offloading stuff to save on storage costs.

They have no money having spent it all on destroying Manchester Dock, which pre-dated The Albert by 60 years, to build a giant museum with a staircase in.
ALL PASSED OVER BY HIS CHUMS AT ENGLISH HERITAGE. Oh no not the dreaded Henry Owen John again who is on the world heritage steering group with the Fuzz..

You will never be able to get these tiles off without obliteration.
The real façade is how they are getting away with it.
Right in front of the crooked operatives of those, English Heretics now Historic England.

THIS IS A PIECE OF PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT BY ANY OTHER NAME.

The Liverpool History Society is doing a fact-gathering mission on behalf of Liverpool Museums. God Bless’em.

What would Rex Makin who hated David Fleming have said about this…….probably his idea actually.
The Local press (sic) have been duped by the PR machine that is Liverpool Museums doing another middle page spread buoying up Fuzzy Felt Fleming…….without looking into the situation. (Mark Thomas you really should be ashamed of yourself.) or do they care.
There was a time when journalists who had a brain, the likes of Peter Elson took Fuzzy Felt to task.
Not any more most of the journalists at the Oldham Echo are only just out of John Moores University themselves…..and short kecks.

Surely Redmond is looking for another new building to be named after him by the University………..but for smoothing the way for Galkoff’s to be demolished.

Phil you really have sold yourself down the river…….or to Tarporly.

Now it transpires Fuzzy Felt is retiring, and guess where hes got a job..................At The University.

It certainly pays well to be  a cultural vandal.

UNESCO World Heritage Committee Meeting 2015; World Heritage Committee Are Getting A Bit Fed Up With Liverpool's Proposed Cultural Vandalism.

Unesco are getting a bit fed up with the ill educated cultural vandals that are running the city. Discussed at the same meeting as war torn Aleppo and the historic town of Zabid in Yemen.
It was discussed along with sites destroyed by the Taliban as acts of cultural terrorism.
Liverpool is not in a third world country as many of the at risk sites but never the less it is really sailing close to the wind. Showing the city as culturally backward is something that all but Liverpool Echo reporters and their readers think is acceptable. http://whc.unesco.org/en/sessions/39com/documents/
With a education via the Liverpool Echo it is understandable why the general population are letting Joe Anderson make us a laughing stock.
Henry Owen John of English Heritage has benefited from the threat and he is now at the UNESCO meeting making excuses for the DCMS who are trying to defend the Mayor who has the intellect of the Taliban in its quest to destroy cultural heritage that belongs to the world. Over three years after Liverpool Waters ticket that he was elected on. By 15% of the population that turned out to vote for him not a job has been created or a brick laid. Peel Holdings Chinese backers have been exposed as invisible and still they keep up the pretence.
Most of the rest of the population don't seem to care who is ripping them off.   http://whc.unesco.org/archive/2015/whc15-39com-inf7Rev-en.pdf

Langton Dock Pumping Station Amongst The Top 10 Endangered Structures In Britain

Langton Dock pumphouse in Merseyside is one of the buildings at risk of being lost forever, according to the Victorian Society. Photograph: John Hake/Victorian Society

A palatial pumphouse, an immense stone spillway and a London roundabout are among the 10 most threatened Victorian and Edwardian structures in England and Wales, according to a list published on Wednesday.

The list, compiled by the Victorian Society, also includes an abandoned railway station in Derbyshire, an ivy-shrouded mortuary chapel in Salford and the country's first lending library, housed in Swindon's Mechanics Institute – all of which have fallen into a shocking state of disrepair.
The publication follows a widespread appeal to find the best and most at risk buildings in England and Wales, with historians, enthusiasts and local campaigners suggesting endangered structures in their area.
"The public responded enthusiastically to our call for threatened buildings," said Chris Costelloe, director of the Victorian Society. "It shows the public cares – but it also shows there are still too many historic buildings at risk, without recognition or protection."

So while Peel Holdings are telling us how wonderful it will be to have Liverpool Docks turned into yuppie flats this is the reality, quality buildings going to rack and ruin.
We broughtthis to the attention of HenryOwen-John who passedit over to Graham Ives of the English Heretics who have stood idly by as it slowly gets worse.
It is in Sefton Council juristiction and their conservation officer seems worse than Steve Corbett the bunch of conservation (sic) officers who do nothing at Liverpool Council.

Wellington Rooms-Call This Regeneration.

The Wellington Rooms-Liverpools Disgrace.

They at the City Council talk of Regeneration and even have a Regeneration Officer appointedbyJo Anderson called Malcolm Kennedy, who it appears, to my mind, is so wrapped up with Peel Holdings that he cant see the true nature of our citys historic past.

What is the point in letting this historic building rot.
Here is a picture taken in 1989 by Jeremy Hawthorn, I hope he won't mind me using it.
I am revisiting a plea I made years ago.
click on the pic as a demonstration to save the buildng was unfurled all over it
It was on a calender that was published by The Nerve a local magazine that does its best to highlight some of the rubbish put out by council spin doctors. http://www.catalystmedia.org.uk/
How can this building be left to rot after a billion pounds of European objective one funding has been swagged to the cronies who have contacts in the North "Vested Interest" Development Agency.

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/06/joe-anderson-to-save-liverpools.html  What will Joe Anderson the Tory Cuts Reaper do.
Here is Correspondents take on the situation.
http://condensedthoughts.blogspot.com/2011/01/joe-anderson-implements-tory-cuts.html

The Wellington Rooms in Mount Pleasant were once described as a ‘house of mirth and revelry’. They were erected after funds were raised by public subscription in 1815.
An Adaptation of the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates of Athens, which was illustrated in the influential publication by Stuart and Revelt Antiquities of Athens.
It had a porch on one side for the setting down of sedan chairs.
The Portico was originally open but was found to be draughty and a disfigurement to the original design was made with the blocking up.
A ballroom of some 80ft by 40ft it had a card room and a supper room.
It was thought to have been frequented by the upper classes, as subscription balls, assemblies and occasional fancy dress balls.
How that description conjures up the most remarkable images of Georgian Liverpool. A Maritime City at the nucleus of its upward growth taking it to the city of its height in the early 20th century.
I grew up with it being known as The Irish Centre in the 70s and 80s, and ignorant of these facts relating the building back to the Battle of Waterloo and Napoleons defeat by the then axis powers under the leadership of the Duke of Wellington.

It was 2008 that I highlighted its plight in a walkabout with Peter Elson. And this Georgian gem still rots.
http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-life-features/liverpool-special-features/2008/01/29/living-on-the-eve-of-destruction-64375-20405391/  This was for the Daily Ghost.
The deterioration seems to have been helped by the lead on the roof going missing. What state inside to the plasterwork?
There were ghastly plans to develop it by sticking a rubic cube sort of extension on the back, this was done by a consortium of Flanagans, the local builders.
Did one of the Flans go to Shanghai as a guest of one of the senior, very senior members of the council.
The plans looked more like a sketch on the back of a jerry-builders ciggy packet than a professionals work . http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/tm_method=full&objectid=20615285&siteid=50061-name_page.html

On the English Heretic at risk register for as long as I can remember. Henry Owen John http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-life-features/liverpool-special-features/2008/03/22/the-changing-face-of-liverpool-64375-20658839/  the area director should be ashamed of himself as should the joker who was the Historic Buildings advisor Peter De Figeurido who let it rot while sucking up to the developers of Mann Island, who it is alleged is now working for Peel Holdings.
Click the link above to see him and the Reichmarshal Nigel Lee making excuses after my article sent waves out about the neglect. Waffling on about the joke about Liver Building Controversy.
While today the Royal Liver is to leave its spiritual home. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news//tm_headline=jobs-axed-as-royal-liver-head-office-in-liverpool-to-close%26method=full%26objectid=29196403%26siteid=100252-name_page.html With the loss of 110 jobs. Now there is contoversy.

http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/upload/pdf/190609north_west_2009_har_register.pdf
And what of Chris Griffiths and Steve Corbett of the useless Liverpool Conservation office.
Next to it and with objective one funding an extension was built on the Gibbard Cathedral, that Oscar Niemeyer rip off, Paddys Wigwam while this wonderful little Georgian gem lies there, rotting, a forlorn looking Mausoleum to Liverpools Regeneration Con.

A disgrace. The Council Have Powers to Save This Historic Gem.

Liverpool Waters-Heading for a Public Inquiry, Its The Only Way.

THE £5.5bn Liverpool Waters scheme would cause “significant damage” to the city’s World Heritage Site – according to a scathing new report.

Peel Holdings wants to regenerate the city’s northern docklands with a series of skyscrapers claiming it will create more than 25,000 jobs and 14,000 apartments in a £5.5bn development.
But Government advisers English Heritage commissioned an independent report into the project after revealing it had concerns about the scheme.
http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2011/05/16/liverpool-waters-scheme-could-damage-world-heritage-site-new-report-warns-92534-28699451/ David Bartlett who has already won an award for reporting on the arrogant Peel Holdings, and their idea to sell our world heritage site down the river and create Dubai-on-Sea. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/09/peel-holdings-arrogant-bastards.html
It seems now we are heading the only way for a public inquiry...lets hope so.

The Liverpool Daily Post say there is an opportunity for compromise. http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/views/liverpool-daily-post/2011/05/16/an-opportunity-to-compromise-92534-28699480/
I question what they would know about heritage with their track record of being led by PR companies on heritage matters such as October Communications, watching while the Pier Head was decimated.
The only way forward is for a public inquiry.
Lets hope this is not just Orchestral manoeuvres in the Dock by Henry Owen-John and he finally does something to regain his awful record on Liverpool's Heritage.  http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2011/03/liverpool-waters-orchestral-manoeuvres.html

The Liverpool Chamber of Commerce has appointed a Senior Executive of Peel Holdings on to its board. Who it is heavily claimed is involved in the Liverpool Waters Scheme.
http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/ldpbusiness/business-local/2011/05/03/liverpool-chamber-of-commerce-appoints-top-peel-surveyor-to-board-92534-28622154/
Its current Chairman is N eel Scales...........who got upset because we suggested he was far too close tp Peel Holdings. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2011/05/merseytravel-try-to-gag-us-we-will-not.html Yes Mr Scales, you should feel well and truly rattled..........we are watching you.
The truth often hurts. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2011/02/neil-scales-spiv-for-peel-holdings.html

While all the current crop of carpet-baggers are destroying the place before they bugger off to Spain with their loot...it is us who will remain who have to afford their tacky and corrupted architectural disasters to our world heritage site.
Lets hope this is a turning point by the local press David seems to have grasped the mettle of this argument.......but it must not be allow our World Heritage Site to be compromised further.......that is the job of the public inquiry.

George Osbourne Budget-The Con Dems To Relax Liverpools Planning Laws!!!!

I find it hard to believe that Liverpool's planning laws could be relaxed anymore than they are already.
Now Osborne says he will relax planning laws in the Budget. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/budget-2011
The Liverpool Planning Manager Nigel Lee, who has done more damage to Liverpool's Architectural prowess than Hermann Goering and the Luftwaffe during the blitz, has had three primary functions for over a decade.

TO MAKE IT WORSE.
The journalists at the Daily Ghost say the Pier Head has won award.
http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2011/03/21/liverpool-s-pier-head-and-canal-link-scheme-among-the-winners-at-civic-trust-architecture-awards-92534-28371777/
LIVERPOOL’S revamped Pier Head and canal link scooped its 17th award in just two years.

They were among city projects dominating a prestigious architecture contest last week.

The £28m project to create a new canal link and transform the Pier Head picked up one of 24 commendation awards at the Civic Trust Awards, in Manchester.
Judges said: “The works represent best practice in accommodating growth and investment in a dynamic, living World Heritage Site city.”
Projects by Liverpool’s universities also played a starring role.
The University of Liverpool’s heating infrastructure project, designed by architects Levitt Bernstein Associates, picked up one of 27 awards.
The contemporary energy centre, which sits in a group of 19th-century listed buildings in Dover Street, was praised for “reflecting the past in a modern solution”.
Judges described it as “a brave, imaginative brief [which] has created a unique and modern design with architectural qualities commensurate with its neighbours”. Council planners worked closely with the architects to refine the design.

Liverpool Hope University’s Angel Field, in Everton, and John Moores University’s art and design academy were also praised.
Cllr Malcolm Kennedy, Liverpool council’s cabinet member for regeneration, said: “Our four award winners are all fantastic examples of how good design and planning can help deliver world-class, contemporary projects, which breathe new life into our city while complementing our existing architecture.”
Council regeneration director Nick Kavanagh added: “Liverpool’s overall success at the Civic Trust Awards shows we continue to be a leading city of architectural excellence.”

http://www.civictrustawards.org.uk/winners/2011/CTA006633/

Information about this winner. There is a slideshow on the link.

The works are to be applauded for their extent and quality which further enhance the setting including the grade I listed Liver Building, and grade II* Cunard and Port of Liverpool Buildings. The scheme provides a flexible, usable public space that responds well and is enjoyed by many. The City Council and its partners have delivered a programme of major investment over some 10 years to regenerate the city and the works represent best practice in accommodating growth and investment in a dynamic, living World Heritage Site city.

REALLY THERE IS NO FUTURE WHEN PEOPLE WHO ARE BLIND TO OUR ARCHITECTURAL LEGACY ARE APPLAUDING THE DECIMATION OF A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE.

Liverpool Waters-Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dock.

Henry Owen-John, English Heretic, well known to these pages is at it again, playing around with Liverpool's Heritage. My opinion is he is now going through the motions on Liverpool waters.

Peel Holdings, it is said, is facing increasing pressure from English Heritage to make further changes to its plans for the £5.5billion Liverpool Waters regeneration scheme.
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dock, playing the game to pretend he is doing his job, but behind closed doors?

HE HAS DONE MORE DAMAGE THAN THE LUFTWAFFE.
pic Lancashire Economic Partnership
In the realms of the destruction of Liverpool’s Architectural History one name stands out above all others, that of Herman Goering.
He and the Luftwaffe saw to it that during the blitz we lost so many architectural masterpieces that they could never be replaced.
We were once The Athens of the North .
The Customs house by John Foster Jr seems to spring to mind when thinking in a solemn mood. Bombed and then knocked down to give work to people after the war. They didn't think to rebuild it to dole out work!!!
Add another name that of HENRY OWEN-JOHN.

This is what the Architect Journal recently reported. http://www.architectsjournal.co.uk/news/daily-news/english-heritage-hits-out-at-55bn-liverpool-waters-scheme/8611903.article It may be paywalled so I have printed it.

In December last year the developer submitted plans, overseen by Chapman Taylor, to construct a series of skyscrapers in the city’s northern docklands, claiming the scheme would create more than 25,000 jobs and boast more than 14,000 apartments.
But Henry Owen-John, regional head of English Heritage (EH), said Peel had a ‘significant’ way to go to prove scheme would not damage the city’s World Heritage Site and warned that EH would fight the development if further concessions were not made.
Peel’s plans are already being considered by Liverpool City Council, and the company’s director of investment, Lindsey Ashworth, said last year that they were not prepared to make any more changes after already making substantial reductions to the size of the development.
Should EH lodge an objection and planning permission is granted, it is likely the scheme would be referred to Communities Secretary Eric Pickles.
Owen-John said English Heritage has commissioned an independent report into the potential impact of the scheme, and revealed that advisers from Unesco, which oversees World Heritage Sites, were also preparing a report on the project after being contacted by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
In an exclusive interview with the Liverpool Daily Post, Owen-John said: ‘We fully support the principle of developing the area. Clearly it is a brownfield site at the moment which is inaccessible and there is real opportunity that could have enormous benefit for Liverpool widely and north Liverpool particularly.
‘I think we have come a long way in three years and we are appreciative of the changes that Peel have made. The scheme is now very significantly different, there were many more tall buildings.
‘The adjustments that have been made are clearly significant from Peel’s point. We feel, despite that, we are not quite there in being able to reach agreement with Peel.’

HE IS ABOUT TO SELL OUT AND CAVE IN. Weak will is his forte.
Hi ex buddy the disgusting ex historic building advisor Peter de Figueiredo is advising Peel.
There should be laws against this.
 http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/09/peter-de-figueiredo-opinion-for-hire.html

Listen to him, on the washed up Roger Philips BBC Radio Merseyside programme yesterday. He comes on about 35 minutes in and goes through the same old shit again, about, when they built the Liver Buildings there was controversy and Philips, who is waiting for his retirement, trying to be Devils Advocate, but now well and truly part of the establishment goes with him. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00f00q3/Roger_Phillips_02_03_2011/

Though I previously said they at English Heretics were against the scheme it is now clear Chief English Heretic, Owen John is now caving in, well he was never against it really, just appearing to be, and my prediction is will come to an arrangement with Peel and his mate, the opinion for hire, Peter de Figueiredo.

What is John Hinchliffe doing, as usual, nothing, his wages funded by the English Heretics.

Update 30.9.2021
Liverpool has now lost its wWorld Heritage Site Status depite objecting to a new Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock they grant, secretly a immunity for listing to the historic Goodison Park.
Orchestral manouvers in the dock.

English Heritage Slam Liverpool Waters.

Looks like those arrogant bastards who are Peel Holdings have had a dent to their over inflated egos.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/09/peel-holdings-arrogant-bastards.html

Or is this a game that the English Heretics who sanctioned some of the worst architectural disasters since Goering sent wave after wave of the Luftwaffe over during the blitz, to bomb the gubbings out of us, are playing to look like they are going through the motions.
HENRY OWEN-JOHN the Regional Development Director is, in my opinion, a disgrace to his profession but he has now come out publicly against Peel.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/05/henry-owen-john-english-heretic.html

We broke the depressing news that another, slimy, in my opinion, character, and ex English Heretic, is employed by Peel.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/09/peter-de-figueiredo-opinion-for-hire.html Opinion for hire, (to the highest bidder) Peter de Figueiredo.
 http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/who-polices-heritage-police.html

We are not messing around with Liverpool's corrupted planning system anymore we are applying our energies to the DCMS who are legally obliged to protect the WHS.

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/12/peel-holdings-being-helped-by-liverpool.html

Yesterday David Bartlett who is doing a good job tracking this planning process reported.

THE regional head of English Heritage last night warned it would fight the £5.5bn Liverpool Waters scheme – unless Peel agreed to make further changes to its plans.
Henry Owen-John said Peel had a “significant” way to go to persuade English Heritage that it should back the scheme and that it would not damage the city’s World Heritage Site.
Peel Holdings wants to regenerate the city’s northern docklands with a series of skyscrapers, claiming it will create more than 25,000 jobs and 14,000 apartments in a £5.5bn development.
Last year Lindsey Ashworth, director of investment for Peel Holdings, said he was not prepared to make any more changes after already substantially reducing the size of the development which Liverpool council planners are currently considering.
If English Heritage lodges an objection and the city grants planning permission, the scheme would automatically be referred to Communities Secretary Eric Pickles – dramatically increasing the chances of a lengthy and costly public inquiry.
Mr Owen-John also revealed that the Department for Culture, Media and Sport has notified Unesco, which oversees World Heritage Sites, about the Liverpool Waters project.
Unesco’s specialist advisers are currently preparing a report on the scheme.
English Heritage has also commissioned an independent report into the potential impact of the scheme.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Post, Mr Owen-John said: “We fully support the principle of developing the area. Clearly it is a brownfield site at the moment which is inaccessible and there is real opportunity that could have enormous benefit for Liverpool widely and north Liverpool particularly.
“I think we have come a long way in three years and we are appreciative of the changes that Peel have made.
“The scheme is now very significantly different, there were many more tall buildings.

“We feel, despite that, we are not quite there in being able to reach agreement with Peel.”

Liverpool's World Heritage Steering Group-The Secret Group-The List of Names.

Yes, I can hear you thinking what is a world heritage steering group. Well here is a list of the names.........round up all the usual suspects. Graham Ives, Louise Obrien, daughter of Fred and Nigel Lee. Graham Boxer and Keith Blundell, no surprises there all the people ever willing to sell out the world heritage site, or turn a blind eye. John Belchem is a surprise,
Wayne Colquhoun was recently interviewed by Winifred Robinson for a Radio 4 programme about Liverpool's new eyesore museum and he was waxing on about the history of the port and all that stuff. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/03/museum-of-liverpool-radio-4-take.html
Sarah Jane Farr was at the Merseyside civic Society meeting. She was one of the heritage collaborators advocating the new museum. She should know better.
 http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/04/merseyside-civic-society-heritage.html
Hinchliffe the World Heritage waste of time http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/02/john-hinchliffe-liverpools-world.html  who has the backbone of a jelly fish as far as the WHS is concerned was running a lot of the proceedings and directed by Ian Wray of the NWDA.
We dont have a chance when these secret organisations meet behind closed doors and don't make themselves known.
So here they are the conspirators to world heritage disasters, turning a blind eye, selling their souls really, probably to the highest bidder, jobs for the boys, or girls.
What is most alarming is David "Fuzzy Felt" Fleming who destroyed Manchester Docks (while Sara Jane Farr recorded the old shoes and bottles found there) is on the committee.
How can you let a man who has no concept of World Heritage principles who is a  marauder of the Liverpool Museums treasure chest to better his career, http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/09/sharon-granville-of-liverpool-museumsis.html who has done so much damage near a steering group. It just shows the type of steering they have in mind.

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/07/liverpool-waters-english-heritage-hold.html

All we need now is Henry Owen-John and Joe Back'Anderson and they can do what they like.
They don't have a single person who we would trust there.

Update 30.9,2021

Liverpool has now lost its World Heritage Site Status.
Dont say we did not warn you.
How can these people sleep at night.

Peter de Figueiredo-Opinion For Hire.

A year ago we wrote about the despicable Peter de Figueiredo and how he was being employed by Peel Holdings and I commented on how there should be some sort of laws against this sort of thing. As Liverpool's historic buildings advisor he was responsible along with Henry Owen-John the regional Development Director (sic) of the English Heretics, for some of the worst decisions that have afforded Liverpool's architectural demise since Goering sent a squadron or three to firebomb the gubbings out of us. Here he is with Julian Truherz his partner at the Save Exhibition Triumph Disaster and Decay. Marcus Binney the President of SAVE was given a personal of Liverpool by him. The other milksop face just obscured is Joseph Sharples who claimed all the credit for updating Pevsners even though most of the work was done by some-one else.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/who-polices-heritage-police.html

Yseterday at a planning meeting regarding Crosby town centre and its proposed disastrous developments that were defeated after 250 people turned up, a note was read out by the representatives of Sainsburys that said. We have a letter of support for these proposals from
Peter de Figueiredo who was, it was said, the historic buildings advisor for English Heritage and he supports the proposals that we are putting forward stating that in his opinion they are good for the area.

This man lives with his partner in a Gothic pile on the Wirral where he entertains the likes of the c20 society with guided tours and posh-knobs it with anyone who can give him a fee, when he is not in his holiday home in Tuscany. What does he care about Crosby.

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/07/henry-owen-john-same-old-english.html

I know he can sleep at night because he has never had a conscience and has been alloweed to get out of control by a system that does not police itself.
Someone shouted at one of the councillors playing politics as it was defeated 6-5 Shame on you.

Shame on you  Peter de Figueiredo you are a disgrace to your proffession, an opinion for hire. In my opinion, Whoring yourself to the highest bidder.

Peel Holdings-Arrogant Bastards!

THE developer behind the multi-billion pound Liverpool Waters project last night said it will not bow to any more pressure from heritage groups.

http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2010/09/13/liverpool-waters-developer-peel-holdings-refuses-to-make-any-more-changes-for-heritage-group-92534-27255622/

Peel Holdings wants to regenerate the city’s northern docklands with a series of skyscrapers creating more than 25,000 jobs and 14,000 apartments in a £5.5bn development.
Lindsey Ashworth, director of investment for Peel Holdings, said he was not prepared to make any more changes after already substantially reducing the size of the development.
He said he thought the scheme now looked fantastic and hoped to submit a planning application at the end of the month or early October.
“If you started to take more buildings off the site, it would become a nondescript scheme – that’s not what this is about,” said Mr Ashworth.
“I want people to remember it for the new architectural features, as well as the heritage.”
But conservation watchdog English Heritage said the plans still have the potential to harm the city’s World Heritage site.
Peel and English Heritage are currently locked in a dispute over how the 50-plus heritage buildings in the huge north Liverpool docklands site should be classified, for conservation purposes.

Last night, Mr Ashworth said: “We met with them [English Heritage] and the council last week, and it was a pretty positive meeting. We are currently debating with them whether you do a five, seven, or nine point assessment of heritage assets.
“There are at least 50 heritage assets. We consider that a five point assessment is enough, but English Heritage want a nine point assessment, that would be like making an encyclopedia.
“What I am saying to English Heritage is that it would be very nice to spend the next 12 months debating this, but we need to reach a conclusion before the end of the month because we want to submit a planning application.”
He said he expected English Heritage to take a neutral approach once a planning application is submitted: “I don’t think we will get a letter of support, and I don’t think they will object.”
He said he was hoping to get the application submitted by the time the next big Liverpool delegation travels to the World Expo in Shanghai on October 11.

“I am not making any more major changes, I have done what I think is reasonable,” said Mr Ashworth.
“There will be no tall buildings on the line of the frontage of the Mersey, but they are still 15 storeys high. I think we have the right balance now. It looks fantastic, but not over the top.”
In July, the Daily Post revealed how Peel had been forced by English Heritage to massively scale back their plans.
Last night, an English Heritage spokesman said: “Liverpool Waters has the potential to improve access to and understanding of the city's World Heritage site, but it also has the potential to harm the setting of internationally important historic buildings on the waterfront.
“As a statutory advisor to Liverpool City Council, English Heritage is working closely with the council and Peel Holdings to assist in the development of a scheme which delivers major regeneration benefits while safeguarding the outstanding heritage of Liverpool's waterfront and docks. We are working with both parties to assess the potential impact of the proposals and will continue to inform the discussions prior to the submission of the formal planning application and while it is being considered.”

City must strike delicate balance

Sep 13 2010 Liverpool Daily Post

THE conflict between the progressives in our society, and the conservatives who want to cling on to all they hold dear for all time, will never, ever cease.
The two sides are too diametrically opposed for there ever to be a permanent truce – and, to be honest, we really wouldn’t want it any other way.
Who would really want ambitious developers to be given absolute carte blanche to build wherever they want, razing our heritage to the ground in the cause of progress? And an inability to change anything, just because it was old, as reactionary conservationists might demand, would stagnate and fossilise any society, to the detriment of all who lived in it.
Liverpool has long been a battleground for this particular squabble. We have more listed buildings than anywhere in Britain outside London, and are in the midst of a mammoth regeneration programme – is it any wonder the heritage dilemma has exercised many leading city figures?
The Liverpool Waters development, in the northern docklands, is a massive plan by any standards, with 14,000 apartments planned in the £5.5bn scheme. Yet heritage campaigners complain it “has the potential to harm the setting of internationally important historic buildings on the waterfront”.
We undermine our heritage at our peril. There are many people around the world who come to Liverpool to marvel at it. But the key to mega- projects like Liverpool Waters is compromise.
Developers Peel Holdings, to be fair, have already modified the plans with the aim of addressing conservation concerns – but insist now that the time for tinkering is past, as they want to move on to the next stage of the planning process.
It would be difficult to argue against that point of view, when they have demonstrated their commitment to a major Liverpool project and have now actually reduced the size of the scheme because of heritage issues.
The balance between progress and conservation is a delicate one to maintain. But the generations yet to come would not thank us, were we to get it wrong.

English Heritage-Its Like The Goon Show In There.

Last night on the BBC was a re-run of a series originally broadcast to show off the work that the English Heretics do, and, to be a showcase for its then Chairman, the Little Lord Fonteroy of a director, their very own Saville Row Bazooka Joe, Dr Simon Thurley.
Instead it exposed the sham facade that is English Heritage to be nothing more than a incompetent bunch of Hooray Henry's sneering down their noses like condescending little balloons. As it where!

Liverpool Waters-English Heritage Hold Secret Meetings To Discuss Our City.

Tomorrow 28th July a secret meeting will take place where Greame Ives will present a English Heritage report into the Peel proposals to carve up the rest of the World Heritage Site compliled by him and Henry Owen-John. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/07/henry-owen-john-same-old-english.html
We can, be in no doubt, still lose WHS status because of these proposals. Unesco can and will act.
Overall Universal Value can and will be hit is these go ahead in their present form. EH, have said however that there are significant changes that need to be carried out and some of them are for the better.

In a confidential report prepared after another secret meeting at 1700hrs on the 14 July, between Joe Anderson and Baroness Kay, along with Mike Burchnall and John Kelly with Henry Owen-John present the Peel scheme was discussed.

Joe Anderson, then had a candlelit dinner at 18.30hrs with Baroness Andrews the Chairman of English Heritage in the swanky Panoramic Restraunt, just the two of them.
The EH report compiled by Graeame Ives says; Buildings on the riverfront should be no higher than 15 storeys and that the Shanghai tower should be reduced significantly. There is a plan to reduce it to 55 Storeys and plonk it on plot 3 on Princes Dock. What a joke how can they even think this. This will change the Skyline into Shanghai and I dont say that kindly.
The meeting and presentation 28th July 2010 is entitled Liverpool Waters Master Plan.

The picture is itself from a Governments Report 2010 and guess what they use a picture from 2002 and you all know what that despoilt view looks like now. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/02/liverpool-waters-glass-pie-in-sky-we.html
Our understanding is that an ex EH historic buildings advisor and English Heretic Peter De Figuirido is employed by Peel Holdings. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/who-polices-heritage-police.html

Another secret meeting took place on the 13th April where the Liverpool World Heritage Steering Group (what!!) all touched each other up at the Government Office for the North West at Cunard Buildings. This went on from a meeting on the 12 January.
Ian Wray was Chair and it was predominately led by John Hinchliffe our very own World Heritage waste of space. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/02/john-hinchliffe-liverpools-world.html
John Belchem is on the WHS steering committee as is Sarah Jane Farr as is Keith Blundell (tourism).
Louise O'Brien daughter of Fred is always around these things, but does not go out front.
What is even more alarming that old "Fuzzy felt" Fleming is on this steering committee too.
You would have thought he has done enough damage, but no. As the name suggests it is a  set up to steer through contentious plans...in secret.
More to follow.

Lottery funding has been refused for Liverpool World Heritage Site Celebration, Interpretation and Education Project.
Maybe they can see right through them.

Henry Owen John-Same Old English Heritage Rubbish.

ECONOMIC cutbacks mean the outlook is bleak for a range of Merseyside buildings deemed “at risk” by English Heritage in its latest report.
Here is last years report http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/06/english-heretics-report-what-load-of.html So whats new.

Among the areas highlighted in the heritage watchdog’s register for 2010 is Liverpool’s Duke Street conservation area. Alan Weston writes. http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2010/07/08/cutbacks-pose-risk-to-liverpool-and-merseyside-s-historic-sites-and-beauty-spots-warns-english-heritage-92534-26808322/
In its new Heritage at Risk register, English Heritage uses Duke Street as an example of a development which was particularly badly hit by the recession.

It said: “Many sites remain compromised by recent unsustainable property values which can no longer be achieved, resulting in significant conservation deficits for a range of potential development sites.
“Without a continuation of substantial heritage-based regeneration funding, or a reversal in the economic climate, it will be particularly challenging to achieve a positive outcome for a range of key sites in the near future.”
A new addition to the English Heritage list of buildings at risk is the Grade II*-listed Greenbank Drive Synagogue, a 1930s art-deco building in Sefton Park.
The synagogue is now closed as a place of worship, but the local congregation still own and are looking to sell the building.
The report says it is “in need of substantial renovation and repair works to the historic fabric”.
English Heritage also highlighted the condition of Anfield cemetery – sometimes known as Liverpool cemetery – as “generally unsatisfactory with major localised problems”.

Despite this report English Heretics put up no fight to Liverpool City Council giving away the GradeII listed Stanley Park.

A number of other landmark buildings in Liverpool city centre remain on the “at risk” register, such as St Luke’s church at the top of Bold Street; the Wellington Rooms, in Mount Pleasant; the Royal Insurance building, in North John Street; the Church of St Andrew, in Rodney Street; the Church of St James, in St James’s Place; and the Stanley Dock north warehouse.

So whats new there the same old at risk register gets brought out again while the same old regional development director Henry Owen John, who has behaved, in my opinion more like a spiv spouts the same old story again while his boss Neil Cossons working for Liverpool Museums gave away the world heritage site http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/05/sir-neil-cossons.html While Peter de Frigerido now enjoys working for Peel holdings  http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/who-polices-heritage-police.html
And they give us the http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/10/wellington-rooms-liverpools-buildings.html same old same old Mr Owen John... The Wellington Rooms.... St James Church.... http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/10/st-james-church-liverpools-heritage-at.html
St Andrews http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/10/st-andrews-church-rodney-st-liverpools.html The Royal Insurance on Dale Street that David  http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/10/liverpools-heritage-at-risk-royal.html That David Bartlet said was a mess http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/06/dale-street-blues-stinky-ink-finally.html
English Heritage said it would now be concentrating its resources on “stopping the rot” by arresting any further decay in significant historic places, so they can take advantage of any future economic growth.

Maybe if the little Lord Thurley who runs English Heretics had any idea what he was doing and stopped wasting money we would all have a chance
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/07/english-heritage-dumber-and-dummer.html

Henry Owen-John, North West regional director for English Heritage, said: “The combination of the economic downturn and an unfavourable exchange rate which reduces the value of European funding are factors in building projects either not being started or completed.”

As it happens you need to stop the rot at English Heritage who have watched while a billion pounds of European Objective One money was spent on amongst other things, building new apartments in the World heritage Blight while English Heretics funded John Hinchliffe to do nothing to protect it. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/02/john-hinchliffe-liverpools-world.html

Here is one we did earlier

Lewis's is to close 300 jobs to go-The Regeneration Con Continues.

Today it is announced that 300 staff are to lose their jobs as Lewis's in Renshaw Street is to close. The pathetic Catherine Jones working for the Oldham Echo reviewed the new book that records its sorry state and gets put right by people leaving comments for not doing her research http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news/2010/02/20/reminder-of-forgotten-glamour-in-liverpool-store-lewis-s-1950s-time-capsule-100252-25873874/ It was blitzed during the war.
I knew there was something going on when it was listed. This will be around the time that all the plans were laid before Henry Owen-John, the regional development director of English Heretics. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/05/henry-owen-john-english-heretic.html
David Bartlett today reports.
LIVERPOOL’S famous Lewis’s store is to close.

The firm must move out by June due to the massive redevelopment of its the Ranelagh Street building..
Around 300 “devastated” staff members are set to lose their jobs.
David Thompson, who owns the store, said there was no guarantee it would reopen once the building work was finished in around two years time.
Developers Merepark have ambitious plans to create a £160m Central Village around the store which will include new hotels, leisure space, retail outlets and restaurant space.
“It is with great regret that we have to announce the closure of Lewis’s store, as our lease with Merepark expires in June,” said Mr Thompson.
“It has now become apparent from Merepark that once the scheduled works commence it would be impossible for us to continue trading from within this building, however we will continue talking to the landlord about possible space within any new development but at this stage no new lease has been agreed.”
He said all orders would be honoured as the store starts the process of selling off £5m of stock.
A full scale closing down programme will start tomorrow and it will only be a matter of weeks before the store, founded by David Lewis 154 years go closes its doors for the last time.
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news//tm_headline=liverpool-s-lewis-s-store-to-close%26method=full%26objectid=25887797%26siteid=100252-name_page.html

This is because of a central village scheme which Warren Bradley...why is he always apearing to be on the side of the developers. We all know he was put into the spot by Clever Trevor Jones (who in my opinion was a spiv)  http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/09/trevor-jone-steps-down-good-riddance.html and Mike Storey, but how can Bradley really be so short sighted or disinterested in Liverpool shopworkers jobs.
Last week in the local papers a spat broke out over the Central village scheme http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2010/02/19/clash-over-affordable-housing-in-liverpool-city-centre-schemes-92534-25868341/
PLANS to build two skyscrapers behind Liverpool’s Central station came under fire last night for not containing enough affordable housing.

Liverpool Council’s Labour group is opposing the £100m Central Village project, claiming it could “price ordinary people out of the market”.
But Liberal Democrat council leader Cllr Warren Bradley said the city could not afford to risk driving developers away from investing by imposing limits on new schemes.
But Liverpool’s current housing strategy declares the “development of significant low-cost market housing or affordable home ownership in the city centre should not be encouraged”.

Last night, the Liberal Democrats said a balance should be struck across the city.
Cllr Bradley said: “It is easy to talk about social and affordable housing, but to me it is about long-termism.
“Every development which comes into the city has to be judged on its own merits.”
Councillor Bradley is not very clever in my opinion.

Rapid Hardware was the longest shop front in the country and as such is now the longest empty shop front in the country. http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2009/08/20/liverpool-one-developer-grosvenor-buys-old-rapid-hardware-site-100252-24490295/ What is the point in doing up one part of the city to let another face decay.   http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/08/grosvenor-pool-new-name-for-liverpool.html I have watched Peter pay Paul all my life. http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2008/03/13/180m-liverpool-central-village-scheme-set-to-start-in-autumn-64375-20617750/

St Michaels in the Hamlet gets some long overdue cash.

MORE than £350,000 will be paid to three Liverpool places of worship by English Heritage, to maintain and repair their historic structures.

Receiving the largest grant, of £199,000, is the church at St Michael in the Hamlet, Aigburth, one of the first buildings to be constructed around a cast-iron frame.
http://www.walkingbook.co.uk/liverpool/pages/page11.htm This online version is a good source for Liverpools history.
St Michael’s vicar, David Parry, said he was “absolutely delighted” with the news and hailed it as further evidence of English Heritage’s commitment to the 195-year-old building. Also due a boost in funds is the Church of All Hallows, in Allerton.
Built between 1872 and 1876, to the designs of GE Grayson, the church contains fine examples of stained glass windows by Morris and Co.
English Heritage has offered £103,000 towards the cost of tower repairs.

The money is delivered in two stages, the first offer is a proportion of the funds, usually utilised for investigative and exploratory work to determine the cost of the repair or maintenance project.
Each congregation must then decide whether to accept the money, with a requirement to match fund to a certain, lesser amount.
Alaster Burman, project director at Princes Road Synagogue, hopes the congregation at the Toxteth-based place of worship will sanction the funding.
Mr Burman said: “English Heritage has been very supportive in the past and is continuing to be so.
“The synagogue is Grade 1 listed and considered to be one of the finest buildings in Europe.
“On a personal note, I hope we do go along with the work, but it is up to the congregation to accept the offer, I know that is a consideration.”
Opened in 1874, the building has a richly decorated and ornate interior that attracts visitors from across the world.
Henry Owen-John, regional director for English Heritage in the North-West region, said: “The North-West has a rich heritage of religious buildings, from tiny rural parish churches and chapels to the huge urban churches of the Industrial Revolution. Its diversity is also reflected in some important buildings built to serve non-Christian faiths.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/05/henry-owen-john-english-heretic.html He is described as regional director when his true title is Regional Development Director and is responsible for allowing some of the biggest carbuncles in the city.

“There is an urgent need for repairs to sustain this outstanding religious heritage, and English Heritage is pleased to be able to provide help for this onerous task.”

St Michael’s vicar, David Parry says he and his congregation will now set about finding the £50,000 match funding necessary to release the English Heritage offer. If accepted, the synagogue will receive £10,000 in the first instance, with access to a further £61,000 to carry out repairs to the north west elevation and stair tower.
In total, £373,000 is being offered to places of worship in Liverpool, out of a pot reaching almost £1.2m, set aside for such buildings across the North- West.
We can only say this is a good news for all those concerned and wish the people connected with undergoing the restorations well in their endevours.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/search/label/Liverpools%20Heritage%20at%20Risk But there is still a lot more work to do.

John Hinchliffe-Liverpools World Heritage Waste of Space.

Liverpool’s World Heritage Officer. Yes we have one and have done for over five years. Funded by English Heritage its John Hinchliffe, the man who has sat idly by and watched the desecration of Liverpool’s World Heritage Site while doing nothing about it. What is the point in holding an office of such distinction if you roll over when any developer with a scheme to destroy key views tiggles your belly. Can you imagine letting them build the Three Black Slugs across the key views to the Taj Mahal or Stonehenge. Well Johnny come lately has. I would have been lying down in front to the bulldozers I once told him after a live Radio 4 interview whereby we called him into account over the destruction of Manchester Docks, which pre-dated the Albert Docks by 60 years. I had sent off a piece to Private Eye and it was edited for Piloti’s column that has been good to us over the years. Civic Vandalism I called it he could only stutter sitting next to me.

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/manchester-docks-obliterated.html “What is the point in having the backbone of a jellyfish as far as world heritage principles are concerned”? I said to him outside. What is the point in allowing any old rubbish to be built without even an opinion? What is the point in masquerading?

Not from Liverpool he was bussed in from Yorkshire. He thanked Peter De Figueiredo the Heritage Fraud who was English Heretics Historic Building advisor for his help. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/who-polices-heritage-police.html  Figueiredo is now working for Peel Holdings. What good is all the money in the world if you sell your soul? Talking of selling your soul http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/05/henry-owen-john-english-heretic.html  here’s one we did earlier about the Heretics North West Development Director. Yes Development Director not Heritage Director Henry Owen-John.

If there was a World Heritage Officer abatement society this World Heritage Waste of Space should have been reported to them. http://www.nwda.co.uk/news--events/press-releases/200401/liverpool-world-heritage-centr.aspx  They speak with forked tongue.

What is the point of having your job description as World Heritage Officer if you are such a week willed man that you will not forward yourself for anything that upsets the Status Quo? http://www.liverpool.gov.uk/Leisure_and_culture/Tourism_and_travel/World_heritage_site/Management_plan/index.asp  Does he really believe the rubbish he writes that Liverpool has a management plan? http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2007/09/13/liverpool-ordered-to-safeguard-waterfront-64375-19782564/  You would have to be a fool to do so and even more of one to help in preparing such a lie. http://www.architectsjournal.co.uk/home/liverpools-heritage-bid-is-a-site-for-sore-eyes/147046.article He wrote into the architect’s journal some time ago. http://www.openlylocal.com/documents/4238-Minutes-for-North-Liverpool-Scrutiny-Panel-meeting-May-11-2009-1-30PM  Now what is he doing about the Peel proposals.

What is the point in being there sitting in the same office as the Reich marshal Nigel Lee the Chief Planning Officer disaster who has done what the Luftwaffe couldn’t do “rip the heart out of the city”. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/knock-off-nigel.html

I hope you are happy with your conscience Mr Hinchliffe We are far from happy with the disgraceful mess that we the public have had to watch unfold while you stand idly by as World Heritage waste of space.

Liverpool Planning, Its a Pantomime-Nigel Lee-He's Behind You.

There he is the "Dick.......Dastardly" Nigel Lee the Chief Planning Disaster of Liverpools misfortune and his sidekick John “Mutley” Bimbo…snassinfrassin away selling us down the river at planning committee meetings. This time of the year while everyone else is down at the Playhouse watching the actors in The 39 Steps, make merriment, or shopping for woolly jumpers in the new Grosvenor-pool The Riechmarshal Lee and his army of elves grind away with some of the most important planning applications while no-one is interested. He really is behind you. In fact too close for comfort. In my opinion he is shafting you. You see he knows that nobody will be paying attention at this time of the year.
