Michael Hesseltine-Peels Poodle. Why Is He Promoting The Loss Of World Heritage. While Pretending To Want To Save It?

Tarzan...swings in and save the day for Liverpool directly after the 1981 Toxteth Riots.

He brings with him a team of developers and architects.

The Albert Dock is recognised as Liverpool's fulcrum of regeneration. The starting point of the long hall back to being on centre stage for this great city.

To negate the Labour Party Hessletine teamed up with Sir Trevor Jones, the one who started all the  corruption and as bad as Liverpool has had. He became Mayor and leader of the Liberal Democrats while living on the Duke of Westminster's Estate.

He once demolished the last ships chandlers while a listing application was being considered by English Heritage. His wife Doreen was chair of the planning committee. Who passed by casting vote The Black Coffins of Mann Island. Only on Murkeyside.

Then the gamekeeper turns poacher and after becoming Minister for Merseyside and becoming mates with Joe Anderson and adds to the corrupt regime by promoting bad development on behalf of Peel Holdings.

Hezza lives on a massive estate and has been building a legacy for future generations...his garden.

While the idiot has been assisting in the destruction of Liverpool's World Heritage Site while giving the impression he cares.

He was recent signatory to a letter sent to Unesco pleading with them not to delete Liverpool from the World Heritage register.

Not in his back yard but its all right in mine. Shame on you Micheal, Shame.

HAS THE LIVERPOOL ECHO FACILITATED CORRUPTION?

AND IF SO IS THIS BY DEFAULT OR WITH INTENT?

The once great institution has been dragged to a new low in our opinion, under the dodgy stewardship of Alastair Machray. It seems the intelligence of the paper has plummeted to what many believe to be an all time low.

Look at tonight's headline and front page The Fat Man with a microphone singing  "Regrets I've had a few" for his final finale.

A insult to the good people of Merseyside.

There was a certain respect for the journalists at the Liverpool Daily Post but when Machray closed that great institution and sacked the staff, he lost the intelligentsia of the organisation. And there is the massive decline of reporting in the city of Liverpool.

Though the decline of the Daily Post had began with the first lady editor Jane whatever her name was. She was obsessed with Debenhams and shops coming to Liverpool. This was continued by Mark Thomas and his PR push for The Duke of Westminster.

When the Duke was investigated over the visiting of £2,000 a night hookers in London. Nothing was said by Trinity 'Smoking' Mirrors of Murkeyside.

When questioned he replied;

“We cant print anything unless its true”

He was informed.

“Well all the national Sunday papers believe it to be true Mr Thomas”

Its not what you print but also what you don't that corrupts your soul.

https://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2011/12/save-liverpools-world-heritage-site.html

https://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/07/banned-from-daily-post.html

The writer intended to fight heritage battles in good faith but they soon discovered there was not a level playing field on which to conduct oneself.

That Sir Trevor and Lady Doreen Jones had been helping themselves for decades, even being bold enough to attend the Duke of Westminster children's wedding.....and live on his estate.

https://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/undeclared-interest-of-jones-vote.html

This was known by all the local journalists down at Oldham Hall street where they used to print the paper. Yet not a word was said. She would be the determining factor on numerous important planning applications that would make the developers millions.

When, as Chairperson of the planning committee she had to vacate the chair because she knew the applicant, The duke of Westminster, not a dicky bird by Machray and Co.

This is just an example of many occasions where the truth was with-held by the local editor.

The writer was told by one of his colleagues that Mark Thomas the editor of the Daily Post was “out to lunch” with senior officials from Peel Holdings who were then putting the application together for Liverpool Waters.

This would be the springboard for the rise of Uncle Joe Anderson. This combined with the well run campaign to restart cruises from the new cruise liner terminal gave the fat man column after column in the papers....all free.

It takes a while to see how the system works and get to know all the developers PR companies but when you do, you start to understand that there is a sequence of events, stage managed in front of all the plebeians who fed the comments section provoked by the same PR companies who understand that with their fees covered the more they create an argument the more they can PR the developers out of it.

And in Liverpool they all love a good argument. My god some of the comments were cringe. And these commentators were led like uneducated fools into the new beginning of Liverpool, like little 'Larry' lambs.

By creating an argument you can win it. That is the way the PR companies work and with an editor who is aiming for argumentative topics, they couldn't lose.

Take for instance, October Communications now Aurora media from Hanover Street.

They fed stories into the papers with great aplomb becoming that friendly with some journalists that they gave them jobs, employment even.

Larry Neild, the City Editor, does anyone remember him, let himself down so badly. He joined them we then knew why he was devoting so much time to the Mann island Development.

Because October communications were Neptune Developments PR consultants.

Jon Egan was the mind behind Joe Andersons Mayoral campaign. We only found this out by making a freedom of information act request over something else and a bill for some T-shirts came up. You can smell the deviousness of their manipulation of the advertorials that were spread out page after page. They were the PR for the Lime Street development that caused such controversy.

The Liverpool Daily Post gave a whole page to Frank McKenna, who had at one time been up on fraud charges. He introduced so many business people into the paper with advertorials that were being paid for by the membership of Downtown Liverpool In Business.

This was very lucrative for McKenna and his influence grew.

A member of the Labour party. Numerous companies joined his organisation.

So Trinity Mirror turned into Trinity Smoking Mirrors on Merseyside.

The big con job was played out in plain sight.

https://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2013/07/frank-mckenna-is-alastair-machray-his.html

We decided to use Private Eye and stop winning journalists awards such as David Bartlett for his, errr our writing. They could see the Murkeyside of politics in Liverpool.

The Liverpool Echo was sinking to an all time low.

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-liverpool-echo-sinks-to-all-time.html

Ben Hatton, son of Derek was running a PR company with a book of clients and this was purchased by Trinity Mirror Group.

Now this seems innocuous at first glance bu when you look at it in context full it means that, The Liverpool Echo is promoting its own clients with its constant advertorial approach. These articles would be packaged up by thinkers who know how to play the system.

But when it boils down to it. There is a payment of sorts at the end of it.
And any conflict of interest would be disguised.
So is Derek Hatton working for the Echo, well the company he fronts is owned by them.
He was given a column. Where is the justice in that.

https://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2016/08/are-mayor-joe-anderson-and-derek-hatton.html

It is with regret that we declare that we consider, in fact  J'acusse Alastair Machray as an enemy of the people of Merseyside while masquerading as the editor of a local paper all he has done is look after the vested interest of the minority of carpet baggers who have fed like vultures on the carcass of council contracts under Il Duce himself. Uncle Joe Anderson.

So now they will tell you what they want you to hear.

Now Derek Hatton has been arrested by Merseyside Police. How can we trust the writing he has been paid for in his weekly column. How can we trust an organisation who employs such as he.

Listen only to the truth, so there is no point in reading tomorrows chip paper.

Just look at today's headlines. Instead of reporting the shame placed on Liverpool by Joe Anderson and his acquaintances, some of who are Echo fifth columnists they report, with front page headline, that the fat twat is doing us a favour by stepping aside.

They helped put him in power! Only the Liverpool Echo could report this way.

There should be an investigation into the clowns at the Liverpool Echo.

THE CORRUPTED LIVERPOOL ECHO edited by ALASTAIR MACHRAY.

Grade II Listed Georgian Property Demolished-In The World Heritage Site.

There is supposed to be protection against demolition in a world heritage site......isn't there?

Lets take a sentimental journey back to 2009

THURSDAY, 27 AUGUST 2009

Lets Take a Sentimental Journey-With Berni

Here we start right in front of the Municipal Buildings on Dale Street and we walk towards the Town Hall where the planning committee met. All those council members including Colin "Cover up" Hilton, Mike Storey, Warren Bradley and Councillor Berni Turner who describes herself as The English Heritage Historic Environment Champion, let me just check I have got that right, yes, will have walked past this for.........well decades really. And here they are now listed, but still falling over. No matter how many soundbites we get in the local press the fact is there for all to see this council is immune to dereliction despite telling us how wonderful they are.

http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2008/02/05/liverpool-georgian-terraces-given-listed-status-64375-20435418/
So over the road from there is Old Jamaica, we call it Old Jamaica because the Georgian building was bulldozed despite strenuous efforts to save it. We started off complaining about the UPVC window front that had been fitted in Revive hair salon, that now needs reviving because it is shut. To no avail there it was dust.

THIS IS ALSO A STROLL DOWN THE WORLD HERITAGE SITE.
NO ITS NOT SOME THIRD WORLD COUNTY THIS IS A EX CAPITAL OF CULTURE.

The next street is Sir Thomas Street runs adjacent to the municipal buildings. We tried to save No 6. Now demolished. That too needs reviving as after destroying the facade it is now well and truly credit crunched. What a waste.http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/heres-one-they-did-earlier.html

Then we just go a short way down and we come across further dereliction, and this is just an example, there is more. To think this is the route that Berni Turner would have taken to the planning committee meetings to sit alongside Councillor Steve Hurst, who passed the demolition of 6 Sir Thomas street with such vigour I could not believe what I was hearing, it seemed like he wanted it down.
Doreen "Dame of Disaster" Jones rubber stamped it and a very interesting point of fact, that needs, considering is, that she was the previous English Heritage Historic Environment Champion. She who knocked down the last ships Chandlers in the city along with her husband Trevor.http://www.helm.org.uk/upload/pdf/2005_leaflet_version_7_final_version.pdf?1251366270 She who in my opinion passed plan after plan with no thought for world heritage or in fact heritage, who said "Politics is a dirty business" while supporting Steve Hurst whilst he was under caution. To think she was a heritage champion is a joke.
And down to the Royal Insurance building on the Corner of Dale Street and North John Street on English Heritics at risk register for a decade laying there decaying with all the vultures waiting to roll over its carcass and pick dry its bones.
So there you go Berni the memories will come flooding back of how you strolled down Dale Street off to planning meetings and others, to defend our heritage day after day and what a wonderful job you are doing and how you proudly proclaim your title as
The English Heritage Historic Environment Champion.
Three Cheers for Berni.......hip hip.... hang on, what have you been doing Ms Turner, this is a world heritage site that you have been journeying along for years and it is a diabolical mess.

Baltic Creative Or Baltic Architectural Abortion?

How can such a small enterprise Baltic Creative  get so much publicity? and who is behind the motor mouths of Baltic Creative?

More importantly. Why is the city allowing such an architectural mess to develop in the Baltic Triangle. While the mouths at Baltic Creative “cover up” this mess by spooning the good news that this is a vibrant area we have to look at the architectural abortion that is Bridgewater Street. Here this end block called Libertas really is taking a Liberty or is it the Micheal?
It has to be the worst piece of architecture ever built.
There are no words other than a Carbuncle to describe it.

Is Grant Butterworth Liverpool's recently appointed planning manager…....hand picked by Joe “Il Duce” Anderson, really doing his job or just allowing anyone to build anything?
There are good things happening. But Baltic is still a dive. It was a blank canvass so why throw a load of paint on it. There was a big fuss when a small artisan bakery opened up there. Yet not a mention of Antonios Bakery which supplies half the city centre. How long before they will have to close and move to a cheaper are and the bakehouse is flattened to make way for yet more flats?
The new commerces that are claimed are happening seem to be made up of massive blocks of student apartments.
These apartments are like shoe-boxes.
It would be like living in a Formula One hotel room.
Coincidentally the horrid architecture of the Formula One (the cheapest hotel chain in France) and the Ibis Hotel, overlooking the Albert Dock are now starting to look like the best quality in the area, against the sad blocks that are being crammed into every piece of derelict land left over from Lady Doreen and Sir Trevor Jones business ventures with Windsor Developments Clever Trevor and Dot who teamed up with the Windsor con men but ultimately this led to the land repossessed by Barclay's Bank who passed it on to Carbuncle Builders Neptune Developments.
Is it Barclay's Bank under the offshore umbrella who are doing the developments in that area?

These developments that will possibly make Heaps Rice Mill listing as Grade II a waste of time because it will now be swallowed up by the slums of the future that are being built in the Baltic Triangle by Neptune and Co?
And if you listen to, or are taken in by the brazen press releases of that said Baltic Creative, that are lapped up by the local hacks, looking for any good news with which to swindle what's left of the declining readership.
Or what is left of the hacks that have not been made redundant by Trinity “Smoking” Mirrors very own grim reaper Alastair Machray. Peter Elson the shipping correspondent gets made redundant in the year that he helped bring the Three Cunard ships into Liverpool. Theres Thanks for you,
How can you sleep at night Mr Machray?

J'accuse Baltic Creative for spreading themselves over the area, pretending everything is fine and rosy, on purpose. Being Property developers Molls. Clouding the issue, making everything look rosy, giving people tinted spectacles.
They are a CIC with charitable status without being accountable as a charity is.
They are funded for sure, we wont go into their finances here.
And then there are the feeders such as grant catchers Engage Liverpool who slither themselves around any where, to anyone will give them a grant.
Gerry Proctors credentials in setting himself up as a planning adviser (sic) in the Baltic Triangle, along with several other areas are simply to make money in our opinion.
Altruism is in short supply where grants are available, in our opinion.
Engage have been funded by Neptune Developments and at every opportunity Proctor will PR for Neptune.
He has also done the same promoting for Peel Holdings and  Liverpool Waters, yes the proposed development that has got Liverpool on the World Heritage In Danger List.
Being funded by the City Council and lottery funding, we can state quite categorically that we do not trust the motive of this sinister organisation Engage Liverpool working behind the scenes.

So the place known as the Baltic Triangle is now being redeveloped and Joe Anderson says it is thriving.
All we see is a load of blocks of shoe boxes, and a new MacDonald's, oh, and a new KFC.
While Cains Brewery has been used as a cannabis farm.

But you don't have to believe us if you don't want to.
You can believe Baltic Creative and the PR rubbish that is spooned by Jon Egan and his mate Mo of Archetype Studios or is it Aurora Media or October Communications who gives a jack, who also PR for Neptune Developments and Cains Brewery owners the Dusanj Brothers, that sacked all their workers,
Oh and they were Joe Anderson's PR firm for his Mayoral campaign, they have also been the city councils PR at various times.
 http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/liverpool-daily-post-what-price-free.html

Its circles again it should be renamed Baltic Circle not Triangle, such is the incestuous relationships being played out before your very eyes and lapped up and spun with a shovel by the Oldham Echo.

Lets see what it looks like when its finished shall we.
One thing is for certain there is some creative accounting going on there.

Save Heaps Rice Mill-Its Too Good To Be Demolished.

How many more historic structures can the city lose. laying there like a ghost of its former self, a working mill up to 1988, the owners of Heaps Rice Mill have let it decline.
It has recently sprouted a roof garden. Now they are to do us all a favour and demolish it.
Plans have recently been submitted to down it and make way for some bland shoeboxes.
Liverpool lost 46 listed buildings under the Fib-Dems led by Mike Storey and Warren "War Zones" Bradley.
How long can this go on.
Liverpool today is prostrated before the Unesco World Heritage committee who are meeting in Doha, Qatar. Where we are promising them we know how to manage a World Heritage Site.
Liverpool is on the Unesco World Heritage In Danger List.
We thought Heaps was listed, which is why it is still standing while all around it has become bland. This area was once, as recently as the 80's home to many small businesses (most of which were owned by Sir Trevor Jones and his Moll Doreen).
Windsor developments were Clever Trevor's Partners In Crime. They crawled all over this part of Town. The Ships chandlers that he and Dot demolished after a application to list it was made was Liverpool's last. The same site is now owned by Neptune Developments.
Greenbergs Outfitters was also demolished, and is now a car park.
So who is going to put up a fight to save this historic structure, who cares?
Lets hope there is such a swell of feeling that the building can be spotlisted and Joe Andersons developer mates can be sent packing.
   http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.co.uk/2009/03/undeclared-interest-of-jones-vote.html

Larry Neild and Co at the Liverpool Echo wrote at the time

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.co.uk/2009/03/superlambanana-land.html

After it made Private Eye.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.co.uk/2009/08/knock-me-down-with-feather-its-clever.html

October Communications now Aurora Media or is it Archetype Studios were the PR for Windsor Developments.

All this while Trevor and Doreen "Partners in Slime" lived next door to the Duke of Westminister.

So who is watching whats going on with Liverpools Historic past. Certainly not Steve Corbett or Chris Griffiths at the now none existant Liverpool Conservation office.

Liverpool Conservation Office-Not Fit For Purpose

We wrote Tuesday, 23 August 2011

Another Hacking Scandal-Right In Front Of The Liverpool Conservation Officers Eyes.
It started some while ago, a complete lack of disregard for history.
Those concerned slowly become ignorant to the law, and the law lets them get away with it. Because they were the law.

A subculture unfolded, where no punishment is dished out, there may even be advice given directing people how to get way with it.
Those rioters did no damage compared to the Liverpool planners and their property developing councillors.
It started, with Trevor and Doreen Jones, so said Private Eye, who wacked down the last Ships Chandlers on the Strand, next to the Baltic Fleet public house. They downed it on the Saturday after a listing application was received by the council on the Friday.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/superlambanana-land.html
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/undeclared-interest-of-jones-vote.html

Lady Doreen Jones was the then chair of the City Planning Committee. What a scandal.

Then it was 6 Sir Thomas Street, they, of Iliad, the developers, seemingly quite cosy with the city council, sent out a team of ignorant little hackers with jack-hammers to smash up the frontage, carved Liver Birds and all. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/heres-one-they-did-earlier.html

The task to smash off the façade……right under the window of the then council leader Warren “War Zones” Bradley, who said “I wondered what all the noise was”.
This happened while awaiting the visit of an English Heritage Inspector. It now looks like a pigs ear.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2011/01/layla-hotel-liverpool-destroying.html

Then the arrogant Maghull Developments smashed off the façade of Josephine Butler House when, guess what awaiting a listing visit from the English Heretics.
Hahnermann House had received a Grade II listing that we applied for, hours before a planning committee decision to develop the site with a horrendous extension.

Mike Hanlon would tell me later on “You did us a favour there, with Hahnermann House”.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/liverpool-preservation-trust-11-13.html

He did himself no favours in destroying JBH as all the fluffy duffys were out in force declaring it a national disaster. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/httpwww.html
While they dont give a hoop to anything out of Hope Street.

JBH is now credit crunched. http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2009/03/03/100m-redevelopment-of-liverpool-s-hope-street-is-the-latest-victim-of-the-credit-crunch-92534-23047723/

Still, in the Baltic Triangle, see above picture the same old, same old is happening.
Despite them telling us the Baltic Triangle will become a Cultural Quarter. Not quite sure how you get a triangle into a quarter?

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/10/liverpools-baltic-triangle-to-become.html
Its a Culture of Facade Hacking more like. Some things never change.
Drivingdown Bridgewater Street and there was a cherry picker and hackers at work, twatting off yet another facade, nothing changes. Its not listed. Steve Corbett says it has architectural merit though.....and thats about it.

Here's the sketch, smash the façade about on any given property, its a tried and tested method, and it looks a mess and then claim its an eyesore and then an otherwise decent building is downed and hey Presto! a Jerry Build goes up for half the cost. Hacking scandals, Liverpool is full of them

There are already plans for next door. 3, 5 and 7 Bridgewater Street.

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/04/57-9-bridgewater-street-up-for.html

The Conservation Officer is a waste of time, I even get the feeling he has to be aware of it all, as no-one in the job of Conservation, in my opinion, can be so thick, or so behind the times, well apart from John Hinchliffe the World Heritage Waste of Space that stands by and watches the WHS be decimated.
Not sure if the both of them are deaf and dumb because they never hear anything and never say anything. On the rare occasion they do stutter some rubbish its usually wrong and misguided. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/08/heaps-rice-mill-grade-ii-listed-and.html
Heaps Rice Mill will be down next.
While Malcolm Kennedy, the Council Cabinet Member for Regeneration (code for lets help Peel Holdings destroy the WHS) appointed by Frank McKenna, I mean Joe Anderson, tells us how wonderful it all is.

Regeneration or Degeneration, another hacking scandal, this time, half a mile from what we are told, is a booming Grosvenor-pool.

Here is what the Conservation officer said in correspondece Wayne had with waste of space Steve Corbett

Mr Corbett I wrote to you some time ago regarding this property in Bridgewater Street

You advised it was an historic building.

Would you please advise me what you have done to help conserve this building since we last corresponded on the matter

Wayne Colquhoun

Mr Corbet this is in Bridgewater Street in front of the new development for the Womans training and next to the antique store.
I have pictures of the facade being hacked off with a cherry picker and wish to ask you the status of this structure, my understanding is it may be listed.
I look forward to hearing from you

Dear Mr Colquhoun,

thanks for letting us know about this. The building is neither listed nor in a conservation area. However, it does appear to be an interesting historic building in the 'Baltic Triangle' - an area that colleagues in the Council and at Liverpool Vision are trying to encourage improvements and investment.

Removing the render would materially alter the building's appearance which would be subject to planning control. I have copied-in my colleagues from the Planning Enforcement Team (who will confirm whether a breach of planning control has occurred) and the City Centre Planning Team (who will advise what is needed to be done by the owner to remedy the breach - taking advice from my own team as necessary).

I will ask my colleague Paul Vertigen in the Planning Enforcement Team to let you know the outcome (thanks Paul).

All Saints Childwall-Gets the Private Eye treatment.

Private Eye the national satirical magazine take an interest in Liverpool again, there is no shortage of work to do. This time it is the mess surrounding All Saints Childwall. 'Piloti' has ago at the Liverpool Church (gravesmashers anonymous) who want to do more damage to bodies of people who probably paid to be buried there.                        Meanwhile reknowned turncoat Rex Makin seems to be critical of Private Eyes 'Pilot' he says in his column this week;

THE late Sir Richard Foster, the first director of Museums, Liverpool, did a wonderful job and enlarged the museum area by taking in the old Polytechnic building in Byrom Street.
The new additional museum at the Pier Head was the subject of a savage attack recently in a leading satirical magazine. Some of its criticisms were felt by others, particularly over the direction, but figures speak louder than words and the museum has enjoyed the same popularity as its predecessor, turning in record numbers to become one of the most popular tourist attractions. However the numbers should not avoid legitimate criticism, of which there is some, but not expressed in the original vicious way it was in the satirical magazine. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/views/liverpool-columnists/rex-makin/2012/01/20/rex-makin-should-city-housing-association-be-sending-pupils-to-eton-100252-30160669/
How two faced can one be, he, has been one of the biggest critics of the new museum and of the current Director Dr David "Fuzzy Felt" Fleming making stinging attacks. Now he appears to swop sides....again.
Who pays the piper plays the tune, unfortunatly. You have to laugh at people like this.

Rex Makin was Trevor Jones solicitor. Private Eye have often taken an interest in Liverpool

I drove down Bridgewater Street and there was a cherry picker and hackers at work, twatting off yet another facade, nothing changes.

Liverpools Great Land Sell Off-At The Wrong Time, For Some.

It was several years ago that I attended the World Heritage Inscription Ceremony at the Liverpool Town Hall. I was uninvited.
I met Rex Makin there who asked me to call into his office to assist with advice on how to campaign against the then proposed Museum of Liverpool, which I did shortly after. He did not appear to like Dr David Fleming one bit.
George Downing was there I approached him and asked him if he would put up a fight against the Mann Island Developments. “I am sitting on the fence at the moment” he said. “Yes and you are going to get a sore arse” I said

He would later go on to receive a £750,000 pay out for a breach of covenant that Liverpool Museums made by blocking views of the Port of Liverpool Building that he owned. That’s what you call nicely cushioned.

Sir Neil Cossons the then Chair of English Heritage said, I remember this because I wrote it down.

“Liverpool has a wealth of great architecture and now has the opportunity to build on the strength of its world heritage site”. I shouted out “That’s what they’re doing” and several people turned to me, some aware of the impending doom that would descend on the Pier Head.

When Cossons said build on the nucleus of the World Heritage Site, there was some already taking him literally.
I spoke to a quite trendy and Tough looking bloke who said he owned or leased a large warehouse on the waterfront that he wanted to develop.

He was a big out of town developer with a standing for making things happen, creating International tourist destination, that people came from all over the world to visit, or so he persuaded me. He then went on to allege some very worrying claims.
He told me how he wanted to develop his site into a rival to his London Base.
“Well why don’t you get a planning application it needs doing up” I said.
“Councillors, he replied, I was told that if I coughed up some money it would have a clear run”
I was not amazed in fact quite the opposite it was just more confirmation of how the stranglehold on the city was being tightened by those in power.
“How much”
“60 grand” he replied. “I just cant do it, I am so annoyed”
If he was to be believed and I have no evidence to doubt his claims it just shows how the city has been run.
He is no longer around Liverpool, so his investment has gone elsewhere.
I put this forward to several local reporters who I knew quite well and it was subsequently ignored.
I have been speaking to a researcher for the BBC called Alex Ritson and this and quite a lot more information has been made available. It seems I have quite a file.
He said he is putting a FOI request in to determine the lease details for Grosvenor-pool.

Lets hope he digs a bit deeper than the local press.
I telephoned the Echo in 1985, I recall speaking to Rob Rohrer and I told him of the involvement of a then little known and up and coming councillor with a local businessman. "I cant just take your word for it" he said. "You need to dig a bit" I told him.
I later found out he was part of the Liverpool Free Press and covered a Trevor Jones expose entitled The Undeclared Interest of 'Jones The Vote' for the New Statesman.
That declaration was taken close to court by Trevors solicitor, Rex Makin, Rob told me.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/09/trevor-jone-steps-down-good-riddance.html

Everyone in the city had a theory of what was allegedly going on.
Some of the senior journalists were in fact card-carrying members of the party.
It was 5 years later that the Sunday Times by-passed the local press and did a massive expose, that led to the councillor in question being taken to court, with his friend as co-defendant.
I recall how the defendant offered no defence and was cleared.
It was national news and brought Liverpool down to a basket case image.
This court case was over a piece of land that was claimed by the defendants had little interest to anyone.
It was claimed, in court that the only person who had taken an interest in this plot of land, alleged to have been sold on the cheap by the council, was Hitler who dropped a bomb on it.
This land is now part o the Liverpool One Grosvenor-pool Development and is worth a fortune.

And what checks will be made of the great Council Land "errr umm" Sell Off happening today under a new Labour administration.

Mike Storey-Like A Bad Penny, He Always Turns Up.

Yes the old Dame is back, this time on the planning committee. He must have put himself there as a last Spiv-Dem act of defiance when they were booted out at the last elections.  It should be renamed the planting committee.
A SLEEPER FOR PEEL HOLDINGS, MAYBE? It seems possible the way this slippery old dame behaves.
He was mentored by Clever Trevor Jones, this is what he said when the eel retired to the Dukes estate in Chester. Cllr Storey said:
"Trevor is one of the outstanding politicians in the Liverpool political scene.

"He is a towering figure who has played a prominent part in the city's politics over several decades.
"Trevor laid the foundations for the huge strides made in Liverpool over the past 10 years."
He said Sir Trevor was instrumental in building bridges with Michael Heseltine when he was sent to Liverpool to help the city after the Toxteth riots.
"They became quite good friends, and that relationship helped to put in place a number of things that we now take for granted like the Albert Docks."
Cllr Storey was deputy leader under Sir Trevor's leadership.
"Every Sunday evening I would go to their house in Queen's Drive, we would natter away and when Doreen [Sir Trevor's wife] had gone to bed we would open the red wine.
"He's a consummate politician and also a consummate winner of elections.
"He is the forefather of modern political campaigning, he introduced the idea of monthly newsletters.
"He taught me everything I know about political campaigning.
"He was a hard nosed politician and a hard nose businessman, but he was also very caring.
"There is a huge number of examples of him helping people with humanity and kindness that people don't know about."
http://blogs.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/dalestreetblues/2009/09/tributes-to-sir-trevor-jones-t.html
Well not quite Mikey, but we can see where you learned all your slippery tricks cant we. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/09/city-has-been-run-by-spivs-and-gamblers.html
This week after his Spiv-Dem council declared no more bars on Lark Lane and Allerton Road here he is twisting it at the planting committee meeting after Florence Gersten made a defiant stand.  But committee member Cllr Mike Storey said:             “In an ideal world, we would like high streets to have grocers and bakers and delis, but life is not like that any more.

“This property has been empty for eight years and God forbid it’s empty for another three or four years because next we’ve got Save Our City quite rightly complaining it’s been left to rack and ruin.”
Planning officer John Collins, recommending approval, said: “We recognise the concerns of people, but the issue of licensing is not one before us here today.
“We are just here to consider the use as a cafe and wine bar, and if alcohol is to be taken then that’s an issue for another committee.
“It’s a difficult decision, I appreciate that, but given the history of the site and the latest assessment, we are recommending permission be granted.” http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2010/10/27/new-wine-bar-on-liverpool-s-lark-lane-approved-despite-bar-ban-92534-27549386/

The reality for Mike "Badpenny" Storey is unfortunately.

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/06/wayne-colquhoun-asks-will-alsop.html Ask Will Alsop what he thinks about Storeys involvment.

http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/05/mike-storey-he-is-guilty-of-liverpools.html
Or try this one or better still click the label at the bottom of this page to see how it all pans out, read the truth instead of the shit you used to get from Mike Storeys mate Larry Neild and co at the Daily Council in Oldham Hall Street.

This is the sod that did all the World Heritage planning blight, and in the context of a tedious campaign currently being run by the Daily Ghost to save our Cruise Liner "Cock Up" Terminal it must be remembered that it was he who nailed the coffin down, it was he who seeded the mess that the city now finds itself in. He was the Captain on Deck when it was signed and sealed. It was his watch that accepted the European grants and told us all we should thank him for it.
http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2010/10/26/top-liverpool-names-back-daily-post-get-on-board-cruise-campaign-92534-27541800/

Just why did him and Bernie Turner fall out will we ever know, or is that buried by the local press too.

You know like a bad penny, no matter how hard you rub, you just cant get the scum off.

Two Faced Liverpool Museums-Will Alsop Declares.

And Mike Storey has Twelve. The disgraced ex council leader has a face for everyone...when it suits him, or his mentors Trevor and Doreen Jones who passed all the plans for the three black coffins at Mann Island.
Moving on from my questions to Will Alsop. It is clear the Development Cabal have taken another hit here. Showing up the "cosy" relationship between the North Vested Interest Development Agency and Neptune Developments.
But we must not forget that Storey was on the NWDA committee, he was also the Council leader. He was also on the board of Liverpool Vision and was a trustee of Liverpool museums.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/06/wayne-colquhoun-asks-will-alsop.html

Today David Bartlett take the time to tell the news where it is.
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news//tm_headline=architect-will-alsop-criticises-liverpool-s-8216-mediocre-8217-waterfront-buildings%26method=full%26objectid=26753889%26siteid=100252-name_page.html

THE ARCHITECT behind the failed Fourth Grace scheme has launched a withering attack on the buildings that are being built in its place on Liverpool’s waterfront.

Will Alsop, whose company designed the Cloud, said the buildings the city has “ended up with ... lie in the general malaise of architectural mediocrity that we find so popular with the current architectural press”.
He added: “In the end, this is all history but I do believe that Liverpool deserves much better than it got, whether it was my building or not.”
Three glazed black blocks in the Mann Island development and the new Museum of Liverpool are currently nearing completion at the city’s Pier Head where the Cloud would have been built.
Mr Alsop also hit out at the National Museums Liverpool (NML) for the organisation’s role in the collapse of the Fourth Grace, saying it had its own agenda.
He also claimed the North West Development Agency (NWDA) had pulled the plug on the project to meet a shortfall in funds for the ECHO Arena and BT Convention Centre.
The architect also claimed the city council had used its planning department as a “stalling device.”
His comments, during an online architectural webchat, have resurrected the row that erupted after his Cloud building was sensationally scrapped in July 2004.
The decision to abandon the project was made after it emerged that projected costs had risen by almost £100m.
Last night the council, the NWDA, and Neptune Developments who are building the three blocks rejected Mr Alsop’s claims. NML declined to comment.
Steven Broomhead, NWDA chief executive, said it was untrue that the scheme had been stopped because of a funding shortfall on the arena and convention project.
He said: “The public sector partners involved in the Fourth Grace – Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Vision, National Museums Liverpool and the NWDA – jointly concluded that the project had become unviable due to increasing costs and fundamental changes from the original scheme.
“The estimated cost had risen from £228m to £324m and there was a massive increase in the residential element of the project, which focused on ‘form’ not sustainable functions.
“All this was likely to have resulted in the scheme being called in, causing lengthy delays in making progress on the site.”
He said the partners had been determined to deliver a “world-class” scheme, adding: “The new Museum of Liverpool, extension to the canal link and complementary mixed-use development will deliver a major iconic visitor destination, as well as delivering significant economic benefits to Liverpool, Merseyside and the entire region.”

Steve Parry, chief executive of Neptune Developments, said Mann Island is a development of “exceptional quality” and had won many plaudits from the Commission for the Built Environment (CABE), English Heritage, and commentators like Stephen Bayley.
He said: “The appeal of the development to investment institutions, and commercial and residential occupiers is undoubtedly connected to the originality of a design.
“Will Alsop is renowned for his colourful and highly individual opinions.
“I think Will should actually come up and see the buildings before judging them.
“As he knows only too well, two dimensional images rarely do justice to visionary architecture.”
A council spokesman said its planning department had raised legitimate concerns regarding the Cloud’s design.
He said: “This was not a stalling device nor was it the reason the project did not happen.
“That was because Å the estimated cost of the scheme spiralled to nearly £100m more than the original figure and that the scheme’s character changed fundamentally from what was originally envisaged.
“This included a proposed massive increase in the residential element of the scheme – doubling the original number of apartments to 700, and 200 apartments in the Canning Dock.”

The Cabal defend English Heritage...well http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/05/sir-neil-cossons.html who was also a trustee of Liverpool Museums. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/who-polices-heritage-police.html
And CABE http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/06/cabe-who-funds-them.html

Bryan Gray the Chairman of the NWDA was also a trustee of NML.

They are All Shysters together as far as I am concerned, they who destroyed Manchester Docks http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/manchester-docks-obliterated.html and who is Stephen Bayley anyhow to comment on a city he left decades ago.

Garden Grabbing to be Outlawed-Too Late For Liverpool. We Have None Left.

Councils are to be given powers to stop Garden Grabbing. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8728633.stm
Garden-grabbing is an emotive term used by campaigners who oppose the building of blocks of flats on land that was formerly gardens. Neighbours who have had their view spoilt by these flats object to the Government’s definition of gardens as brownfield land, which leaves them vulnerable to property developers.

That view has to be balanced against the fact of Britain’s housing shortage: the Government’s target is 200,000 new homes each year, yet only 160,000 were completed in 2006. That lack of supply artificially inflates house prices and wrenches the first rung of the property ladder away from the reach of the majority of young people. The issue hit the headlines last week, when the Conservative MP Greg Clark introduced a Private Member’s Bill calling for the removal of gardens from the definition of brownfield sites. http://property.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/property/new_homes/article1966188.ece Portions of gardens are also being sold off by homeowners who prefer cash to mowing lawns. One couple, Zoë and Norman Carter, bought a plot of land that was originally part of someone else’s back garden in the north Cornwall village of St Breward, and have just built a new home on it. The neighbours objected. “Obviously people don’t like change,” says Norman Carter. “But we tried to combat this by using local builders and suppliers, which helped with some of the resistance.” Most of his neighbours have now come round, though he admits that a couple are still unhappy.

James Greenwood, of Stacks, the buying agents who acted for the Carters, says that garden-grabbing is on the increase: “Traditionally, it was associated with the South East but now it is a widening phenomenon. Rock in Cornwall is a prime example. There is huge demand for property here and developers are buying up any small piece of land they can lay their hands on. But a warning to potential developers: you will not be popular with the locals. Villagers will never be happy about more properties being crammed into their area.”
Those tempted to defy the neighbours and sell off the bottom of their garden should act soon: Mr Clark’s Bill is due to be heard in Parliament on October 19.

But what of Liverpool where the council gives public gardens away to developers. Warren "War Zone" Bradley was good at that, giving the whole Garden Festival site away. That was left to decay to facilitate a give away price. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/09/is-warren-bradley-really-that-thick.html Within the  site and paid for by public money after the Toxteth riots there was the Velodrome (see Picture).
The much needed building was dismantled right under the noses of council leaders. Warrens watch as a fire bobby was Toxteth is a mess still 30 years after the riots. Within Loiuse Ellmans constituancy.

Then there is One Park Gone West on what was Chavasse Park , now Chavasse Lawn, which is now a car park 40 feet in the air.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/10/liverpool-one-they-have-stolen-our.html The council allowed the building of a giant carbuncle on the site to satisfy the ex council leader Sir Clever Trevor Jones friend the Duke of Westminster. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/08/one-park-west-voted-one-park-worst-by.html Voted No 4 in BDs Carbuncle Cup competition.
Unfortunatly the laws will be wasted on Liverpool Planners this we have no gardens left.

Liverpools Liberal Democrats-Destroyed the World Heritage Site

Get them out. 47 listed buildings destroyed while the FIB-DEMS have been in power, with so many others awaiting a similar fate. Hundreds more properties are in a perilous situation while the carpet-baggers pick over the carcasses of those that succumb to the neglect. The whole of Liverpool including its WHS will turn into a giant high tensile flat. Whole areas are now blighted with inapropriate developments that make the old look out of place.
Parts of the town centre still look as bad as they did while we have rebranded vthe city as Grosvenor-pool in the eyes of the world.
Parts of Toxteth still look as bad 30 years after the riots as they did during them. And all we hear is spin about how the city has been transformed how wonderful the FIB-DEMS are.
A Busted flush is really what they are and we will have to live with World Heritage disaster while all those "Cosy" developers are in some tax haven with the loot aquired during the binge build years that was Liverpool during the Fib-Dems. And I am not saying Labour would have been better.

Warren Bradley was put there by his mentors Mike Storey http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/search/label/Mike%20Storey and Sir Trevor Jones http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/search/label/Sir%20Trevor%20Jones as a puppet to facilitate the ongoing property developers free for all started by, in my opinion, the Property Developing Spiv, Clever Trevor in the 80s, who was bypassed by Hesseltine who set up the Merseyside Development Authority, that gave us the International Garden Festival,  to bypass the corrupted planning system of the time. I was advised by the regional editor, at the time, of the New Statesman, that his solicitor in the 80s was Rex Makin, who, in my opinion,  seems to have a power in this city that is unwaranted. It was alleged the other day by a learned legal friend of mine that Rex has shares in the Trinity "Smoking" Mirror Group. How very convenient.
Warren even said publicly that the Dame of Dereliction, Doreen Jones who was the chair of the planning committee. She who, by casting votes sent us into world heritage disaster by passing the Mann Island Monsters, amongst many other disasters. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/search/label/Lady%20Doreen%20Jones Doreen, was little Warrens mentor, he declared it publicly.  He brought back in, Mike Storey who had to resign in disgrace. Where is the culpibility. Warren has far too much power for such little brains. Or am I mistaken, is it the Oligarchs of Liverpool, the ones we dont hear too much about who are the clever ones because they have manipulated this city for decades. Cleaned up. Moved to Chester.
While Louise Ellman http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/search/label/Louise%20Ellman and her friends and aqaintances http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/search/label/Frank%20McKenna do what they like without effective forces to stop them, or do they want to. Warren Bradley was bezzies with Steve Hurst. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/search/label/Steve%20Hurst

All this while Trintity "Smoking" Mirrors stand by, oh hang on editor Alistair Macrazy says vote labour http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news//2010/05/05/liverpool-echo-editor-alastair-machray-better-the-devil-you-know-vote-labour-100252-26379886/ better the devil you know. Thats the Devil saying vote for the Devil. You just cant win.

NWDA to Probe its Own Land Sell-Off to Neptune Developments. Now Does That Make Sense?

This is how it was. Liverpool the Venice of the North, those magnificent views, so good we were made a world heritage site. A WHS for what our forebears left us. This had view survived by sheer miracle, that was the words of Graham Fisher the Chairman of the local Victorian Society during his elegant and passionate speech opposing the plans to develop the site by Neptune Developments at the planning committee that Lady Doreen Jones the Dame of Disaster http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/03/undeclared-interest-of-jones-vote.html  passed by a casting vote and then buggered off to where she lived just outside Chester with Clever Trevor the property developing ex Lord Mayor. Never should this have been allowed. All the power was with the NWDA who run the Government Office North West who report to the DCMS who are guilded by the English Heretics http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/05/sir-neil-cossons.html with their c****pted officials doing deals to further their careers. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/05/henry-owen-john-english-heretic.html see a couple of posts we did earlier http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/who-polices-heritage-police.html Peter de Figueiredo…. English Heretic is now I am informed employed by Peel Holdings. What good is all the money in the world if you sell your soul.

Now it is reported (badly) by the Daily Ghost that the whole of the land deal is to be investigated http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2010/01/19/northwest-development-agency-to-probe-liverpool-waterfront-land-sell-off-92534-25630638/ It is reported that the NWDA is to probe Liverpool Waterfront land sell off............which they did , how can this be right.  http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/search/label/NWDA and why are they continuing with the same old. They are funding Carbuncle after Carbuncle in the WHS. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/07/mann-island-funds-new-museum-its-fact.html

Who-ever called themselves, falsely, a reporter who put the Daily Ghost article together does not have a clue as the figures they quote as they do not add up niether does the article make sense. It appears to be another NWDA press release packaged as a damage limitation by the Daily Ghost. We thought they were getting a bit better this year but they just do not have the journalistic skills.
