Stella Shiu-Exposed In Private Eye. Serious Questions Need To Be Answered About Sam Wa.

Stella Shiu gets the Private Eye treatment. You have to ask why are the local pres is not looking into the finances of Peel Holdings and why are they believing what Peel say.
China has a level of corruption that has been shown to be unparallelled.
 We are not saying there is anything a miss here between Lindsay and Stell but the public are always let down by Liverpool's lazy local press who just take any old hack from whatever PR company feeds them, or gives them a freebie. So we cant believe them.
This has to stop.
  Those that call themselves journalists should understand that in an age where citizen journalism creates news they are pulling off a confidence trick to the dwindling readership.

We have asked David where this information has come from and how he may substantiate these claims.
We are still waiting for a reply.........but we will get one.
The Private Eye article questions the credentials of Sam Wa, saying that all the articles in the press have been written recently (mostly by David Bartlett and co) and their checks using the Nexis database available to them has shown nothing else other than those articles from Peels Poodles down at the Daily Ghost, who seem insistent on doing advertorials for them week after week.
When in reality all the promises have resulted not a single brick being laid on Liverpool Waters or Wirral Waters (where the plans were passed years ago).
The Sam Wa website that the Daily Ghost has used looks like it has been built be a 5 year old kid and the first rule of journalism is to check your source.................especially if the source comes from China.

The issue before Private Eye 1339 saw another poke at Peel. The article entitled CHINESE TAKEAWAY stated the David Cameron and John Whittaker travelled together to the Expo. David Bartlett was aware of this, after the event, despite going to Shanghai, but this telling piece of information was conveniently withheld from articles written. The Eye article states that Peel paid for Liverpool's stand at the Shanghai expo and this is factually incorrect. As it was, we the taxpayer that paid for Peels stand. Its not only local press that need to get the facts straight. This was an expo that Joe Anderson when in opposition declared was a waste of taxpayers money, and it was recorded, probably by Bartlett. Then when he becomes Liverpool's dictator he sanctioned it.  Peel duly took the stand at the Shanghai expo promoting Wirral Waters which includes the International Trade Centre which will be a full on competition to Liverpool Waters. The company Peel and Sam War Investments Ltd,  whose directors, it states in Eye 1339 are Stella Shiu and Lindsay Ashworth. But it also states there is little on record about Stella Shui. But in 1340 it claims that The Hong Kong authorities seem to have quite a bit of info on her and she may have in fact, it is alleged changed her name. click on article to read

It was not long ago that David Wade-Smith, Liverpool's unelected cabinet member for business, was made Chairman or top dog in McKenna’s Downtown Liverpool. His role in the Council is surprising to us, but seeminly not to the local papers.
Nevertheless, Joe Anderson gave him this role (under the table?) , despite Wade Smith costing us the taxpayer  £6.5million quid.

So yesterday's front page in the “Weekly Ghost” writer for the council promoted McKenna elevating him to Guru status.
Why did they even promote this non headline, when we have been calling for Frenson CPO's for years?

A portfolio of properties has gone into administration under the auspices of one of the Anglo Irish Bank (The biggest bunch of shysters of all  http://www.independent.ie/business/irish/inside-anglo-the-secret-recordings-29366837.html ) and the portfolio contains about 300 properties. Some may have bee owned by the  Frenson.
So who is McKenna representing when he says they should CPO’d.
The Council had originally sold most of the portfolio to Frenson under a promise of regeneration some time ago. Frenson who just sat on them waiting for them to fall down and the land value to rise.

Iliad the vandals of 6 Sir Thomas Street were one of the first members of Downtown Liverpool In Joe Andersons Pocket and they seem to be ruling the roost in the Ropewalks area.

Plans to knock down two more listed buildings in Duke St have largely gone unnoticed, we can’t do everything.

So what future for this area if one of McSpivs mates, get hold of the properties?
And what does Joe Anderson know of this?
Is he in on the press release?
Also what may be an important issue?
What is to happen to those small thriving businesses that are part of the portfolio McKenna wants someone unbeknown at present to get their hands on.

We have heard on the grapevine that developers have already been eyeing up Wolstoneholme Square as the location for the Camden Market of the North.

Which is code for lets lets get our grips on some real state and stuff the small businesses.

We have great concerns about the level of journalism at Trinity "Smoking" Mirror here on Merseyside.

Wayne won David Bartlett an award for his world heritage writing.

He would cut and paste what he had written (check the dates they all appear the day after we printed them) throw a few misquotes in and put his name to it.
Today we accuse him of burying news from the Liverpool public.

Wayne says "I used to help him as much as I could naively thinking it would help our cause of saving the world heritage site, but then I started to notice how he would cherry pick what he wanted and drop other things in to suit what he wanted to write.

Now that he has been promoted to News Editor level we are extremely worried.

We decided some time ago to bypass the local press as we consider they don't tell the truth. There is an old saying "If you lay with dogs, you get fleas"

Our movement is growing and we intend to stay focused on the truth not half truths twisted by trained seals."

You will of course be aware that I have been asking you to check into the finances of Peel for over a year and its links to the Chineses government.
In order to trust the local press we have to know that they have checked their sources and are in fact not just doing press releases from whoever they may see fit.
We have to know the local press are not biased towards property developers that will, in Peels case lose us WHS status using blackmail and threats to back out of projects if they dont get thier way.

1. Where did this story eminate from.
2. What ckecks did you do to confirm that the Chinese Government is in fact on board. Did you contact them or just take someones word?
3. What checks have you done to confirm Peel have the finances or the structure to deal with such ambitious schemes considering the projects all over the country they are proposing.

4.Did you consider that in writing this story you are in fact endorsing the relationship of Stella Shui and San-Wa minerals with Peel Holdings making this look like a gigantic enterprise set up by the Chinese government at a time when there is huge corruption in China.
Where are the checks that we as a city do not get bound up in all this?

I understand the paper does not have enough journalists and those working there are overworked ...........but this has gone far enough now.
I have enclosed a Private Eye article that I have contributed with the sole intention of bypassing the local press who its seems are insistent on building up Stella Shiu while doing nothing in the way of checks.
I do not go with your view that she may have had financial problems in Hog Kong but that does not mean it has no effect here in the UK.
The fact that I have had to do it for you and pass it to you, and you still ignore it makes the situation seem bizarre.
I would go as far as to say it appears an editorial stance that you or your colleague Liam Murphy do no checks to substantiate your articles wherever Stella Shiu or Peels invisible finances rear their head.
Who said she was a government official this is a question I asked you and you could not answer.

I requested that you look into the finances of Peel and Stella Shiu and you said you couldnt because you are overworked.

So am I And I have better things to be doing than trawling my way through misrepresentational reporting in order to fight what me and my colleagues perceive as heritage battles ie. save Liverpools Working Heritage site while getting reconstruction.

I will ask you once again to look into the structure of Peel Holdings in view of the recent Private Eye article

Lawrence Kenwrights Giant Ponzi Scheme Goes Bust.

Most people knew what he was up to.
None of Liverpools reputable estate agents, if there is such a thing, would touch him.
They all knew he was operating a giant Pyramid Scheme where one development was funding another.

Crony Capitalism they call it in Private Eye, and in this current issue they make a good job at describing the way local Liverpool works. Murkeyside they call it. And there is good reason to do so. McKenna has been in trouble with the law before and it appears to say here in Private Eye he is now dictating policy to a elected Mayor, Joe Anderson. They go some way expose the links with the DLiB organisation and local politicians, even David Wade Smith, who was employed by Liverpool City Council and is now the Chairman of DLiB, gets a mention. You have to wonder why the local press don't do an expose on McKenna.

All Saints Childwall-Gets the Private Eye treatment.

Private Eye the national satirical magazine take an interest in Liverpool again, there is no shortage of work to do. This time it is the mess surrounding All Saints Childwall. Joe Anderson and Lawrence Kenwright's Signature Living Land Deal Exposed In Private Eye.

Private Eye entitles the article in the current edition, in ROTTEN BOROUGHS, CLASS ACT. Just who is writing all this stuff for Private Eye? We call it dodgy dealing right in front of the eyes of the public, and the local press, who should be watching what the property developing Mayor Joe Anderson is doing with our public funds. Some Time ago Wayne campaigned to bring some life back into the historic Albion House after it had lain there empty for years claiming it would be a perfect place to link Liverpool, on a global stage with the huge interest of the tragic events, that happened on the fateful night, when the Titanic was sunk. "There is so much public interest that it couldn't go wrong". he said. Sure enough Joe Anderson's mate Lawrence Kenwright must have been listening and miraculously got his hands on a pile of cash. 

Despite being previously banned as a company director. (you don't just get banned as a company director for bad book-keeping).

 But Joe Anderson and Co don't seem to care who they give the council assets to,  such as Municipal House in Victoria Street. 

 Kenwright was also the character that come up, out of nowhere, (and do we believe him) with a dodgy scheme to steal St Lukes Church from its rightful place as a monument to the blitz.

Liverpool's World Heritage Blight.

Liverpool’s World Heritage Blight has never gone unnoticed with the national press who it now seems, after the PR onslaught of 2008 is waking up. However Private Eye's Piloti (just who is the Liverpool Piloti) has always kept a keen eye on Liverpool and its heritage misdemeanours. This current issue, talking freely about the blight that is to install itself on the Lyceum and the Dale Street disaster. Bernie Turnip and Baron Wadley (soon to be sacked as leader after losing the council) even gets a mention. If more people took an interest, and stood up to be counted against Heritage blight, instead of doing it as a hobby well we wouldn’t be in such a mess. We would all be better off.

Years ago Vicky Anderson of the now dead (thank god someone put it out of our misery) daily Ghost broke the news that Liverpool Library was to be sold off to a Developer and we would lease it back. This was put forward as a good news story, and she glibly wrote it up.

Today it is reported by the very paper that was promoting the Livesmart as the new oyster card the newly promoted
David Bartlett wrote
More than £6.5m of taxpayers money was wasted by transport authority Merseytravel on the purchase of a smart card company that never made any money.

An internal audit found that Merseytravel’s acquisition of Livesmart delivered “little tangible benefit” to the organisation or the taxpayer.
The ECHO has seen parts of the audit, which is being kept under wraps by Merseytravel.
The review, which was overseen by St Helens council, said “significant failings in corporate governance” by Merseytravel led to the huge loss.
The organisation is now in the process of winding up Livesmart and its chairman Liam Robinson, who took over last summer, admitted mistakes were made.
He said: “It is fair to say that Livesmart was not a successful commercial venture, giving little return for a significant investment by Merseytravel.

“We recognise that mistakes have been made in the past, but we are determined to examine them, learn from them, and make sure they are not repeated. That is the process we are following with Livesmart.”

Livesmart was founded in 2004 by businessman David Wade-Smith.
It ran the popular 08 Capital of Culture card scheme offering discounts to shops, retailers, restaurants and bars across Liverpool. Merseytravel first became involved in the company in 2006.
In 2008 the transport authority paid £750,000 to increase its stake in the company from 24.9% to 87%.

At the time Neil Scales, then chief executive and director general for Merseytravel, said: “This is a sound investment for us. It is a company of real potential.

“We are literally just touching the surface in terms of the potential for smart card technology.”
But the company spent the past few years racking up the huge losses with Merseytravel pouring money into the firm.
Mr Wade-Smith resigned from the company in October 2010, as did fellow director Carl Speight.

On the same day £441,000 was paid out to shareholders.

This was revealed in the company’s accounts for the year ending March 31, 2011.

The building narrowly escaped the wrecking ball in the 1970s, when Liverpool City Council gave the go-ahead for it to be demolished.
Developers claimed they needed the site for an extension to Central Station.
But in 1979, a few short months after Margaret Thatcher had swept to power, the then secretary of state for the environment, Michael Heseltine, announced the Government was going to buy it and fund its restoration.
Heritage campaigner Florence Gersten, who was instrumental in the campaign to save the Lyceum in 1979, is pessimistic about what could now happened to the building.

She said: “If it stays in commercial hands, I’m afraid for its future. I don’t think that’s the right use for it.
“It’s not a huge building. What are they going to do with it that’s going to compensate that sort of money?
“It’s a building that the council should have taken responsibility for. But they didn’t – they supported people’s wish to demolish it.”

Four years after plans for Liverpool Waters, and even longer for Wirral Waters were passed, not a brick has been laid.
 Not a mention of the twenty thousand jobs that Peel said they would create.
 Just how they will do this while hiding the fact that Peel are now trying to offload the land to any dodgy Chinese investor with a few bob. Cash in their assets.

Not a mention of Ashworth's very own China Girl, Stella Shiu being exposed in Private Eye or the FT.

Dr Ian Poole-Is He a Fool?.

We have published a lot of Private Eye recently.
Piloti of NOOKS AND CORNERS seems to take a keen interest in Liverpool at the risk of infuriating the clowns of Liverpool of which there are many. There always seems to be something he can pick up in a city run by spivs.
Dr Ian Poole of  Mossley Hill has been a staunch supporter of the Three Black Coffins on Mann Island so it is no suprise that he writes in to Private Eye to waffle more misguided diatribe which borders on the personal. We have his letters in the Daily Ghost.
Wayne is quite capable of taking critisizm on the chin and we think it only fair that we also publish reporting that does not suit us.
Even if it is a clown that writes it.

A quick google search reveals a nutty professor called Ian Poole in Liverpool who fancies himself as a writer.

Not sure if this is the same Dr Ian Poole who we shouldnt even give a mention to but there seems to be a very large coincidence.

You have to be worried about the level of publicity for a lobby group when it reaches the proportions that it has here on Murkeyside. Trinity "Smoking" Mirror Group seem to be a law onto themselves, out of control in fact, printing what they like . 

Last week a row broke out, or was it manufactured? 

It was relating to comments by Frank McKenna and was duly put on the front page of the Daily Ghost. The row centred around the Ropewalks area and was predominantly about how Frank McSpiv thinks 300 properties should be CPO'd by the council.

Or was it a guise for Iliad, one of his first members, and the vandals of 6 Sir Thomas Street,to be allowed to walk all over the ropewalks area. It did not say that of course but was disguised in a manner that was slight of hand in our opinion.                                                         

 We are hearing reports that the person who writes the Ropewalks blog resigned.

 Do Iliad run this website?

 Was he pressurised out by Iliad after he made comments on Facebook?

 But it does not stop there this week there is another page this time with the Mayor and Malcolm Kennedy playing political manoeuvres, against McKenna, when we all know that there is a direct link with Frank McKenna and the Council.

 Larry Neild when working for The Ghost received an award for his journalism! From McKenna and duly got up and gave a 20 minute acceptance speech.

 So why is there so much space given over to McSpiv and his group from The Editor in Chief Trinity Mirror Merseyside by Alastair Machray.?

 Joe Anderson has often spoke at Downtown Liverpool get togethers, but now when he is geting a spotlight on his interactions he now wishes to PR a distance from McKenna.

Guest speaker one minute not talking the next, come on, That may kid the masses but not us.

 Meanwhile David Bartlett The Prisoner of Port Merrion on Mersey,  Come in No 6,  has been promoted to content editor.

It looks to us that the continuation of the relationship between Downtown Liverpool and Oldham Hall Street will continue.

Private Eye Asks, Wirral Waters-IS IT A MYTH?

And what about Liverpool Waters? And it takes Private Eye to expose them while the dodgy Liverpool Echo keep spreading myths. It was they who told the lapping it up public that Stella and her Fella Lindsay Ashworth were going to transform the Wirral skyline. Five years later not a brick has been laid.

Sometimes You need a look from out of the city to realise just how crass a proposal is. Private Eye is good at that. Maybe then it wakes up the local planners and the dictator of a Mayor Mr Anderson to realise that you cant carry on vandalising your heritage at the behest of the city council's  property developing mates. This is a cosy relationship. One of Neptunes Directors used to work for the City Council planning department. But the real question is how can a city that is a World Heritage City even consider allowing such a bad proposal in the first place? We all know in the city that this is a ugly scheme. Maybe the Chubby version of Derek Hatton can now wake up  and use his dictatorship to send his mates packing right back to the drawing board. 

Don't forget the developers and their architects are the same ones that built the Three Black Coffins on Mann Island that scar our world Heritage blight forever.

Green Property-In Private Eye, Over India Buildings

It is a well deserved mention that Green Property get in Private Eye.
The lack of care and direction that they have shown in being the custodian of one of Liverpool's historic buildings has been brought to the attention of a wider audience by 'Piloti' in the NOOKS AND CORNERS section.
Piloti says the original title of this column was "Nooks and Corners of the NEW BARBARISM" and there has been plenty of barbarism described here over the years. Much of it emanated from Liverpool and alas, there is more.

Just who is the Liverpool 'Piloti' where does he get his concise information from and how come there is so much to write about Liverpool.

We thank 'Piloti' for helping to expand the Architectural Barbarism that is commonplace in Liverpool to a wider audience.

We Have The Tacky Phone Advert On The Town Hall Removed-Is This A Success? Or A Sad State Of Affairs?

It really is a sad state of affairs when you have to educate a Mayor of a City that thinks that a World Heritage Site is just a certificate on the wall in the town hall and not something to be proud of.
That has got Liverpool on the World Heritage "At Risk" Register.
It is even worse when the Town Hall, that is in the World Heritage Site, is a listed building and is in a conservation area, turns into a tacky advertising  hoarding for mobile phones.

It is even worse when the Mayoral Dictator Joe, who was elected with 17% of electorate argues with you about it.
 He tried to bully us with crude comments, that only serve to show how arrogant he is with Liverpool's Heritage sites.
 "Il Duce" Anderson may think he can bully all the usual suspects, but we can tell this Mayor that he will not dictate to us in any way shape or form.
The advert was illegal it did not have planning permission. he has now taken our colleagues advice and had it removed.

So, we should claim a success, but no, it is so bad here in Liverpool, and this only serves to prove that a ex European Capital of Culture has sold out to a Culture of Capital where they sell the facade of the town hall.
We still await some FOI requests which will tell us how much and to whom.
If Joe Anderson wants to sell his own soul he can but he is not selling the Town Hall.

What a disgraceful state of affairs this city has got itself into by electing a Mayor who is more interested in big business and making money for his mates at Frank McKenna's Downtown Liverpool In Business, than safeguarding the cities heritage assetts.
Come back Derek Hatton all is forgiven this character makes him look tame.
