Liverpool Waters-Public Inquiry Is Called For.

In the light of Joe Andersons recent outburst supporting Peel Holdings, Liverpool Waters. We feel it is time to call for a Call-in and a public inquiry.
Joe Anderson cannot, in my opinion be trusted with Liverpools Historic fabric. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/11/joe-anderson-spiving-for-peel-holdings.html
He was also part of the Cabal that has done some damage being part of Liverpool Vision, The Culture Company etc, etc.  http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2010/11/03/liverpool-council-leader-joe-anderson-hits-out-at-english-heritage-for-blocking-city-development-92534-27590506/

We invite anyone who has a concern to join us in asking for a public inquiry, write to the address below.
I am informed that Florence Gersten of Save Our City will do so today.
Caity Marsh and Peter Marsden of the DCMS can also be contacted as they are to report to UNESCO.
The World Heritage Steering group have decided at a secret meeting that they need the help of the Merseyside Civic Society to collaborate on this scheme, to make it easier for them to pass it. I understand despite refusing before when requested Peel may now give a presentation to the MCS where they will discuss the matter. (The whole theree of them). The World Heritage Steering group led by John "World Heritage waste of space" Hinchliffe has now decided they need them for the same Mann Island trick. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/04/merseyside-civic-society-heritage.html

“Called-in” Applications

The discretionary power to call in an application before it is formally determined by the Local Planning Authority is given by Section 77 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

The criteria used at present were set out in a 1999 Commons answer in which it was stated that the Government would only intervene in council’s jurisdiction if the planning issues were of more than local importance.

The criteria given at the time were that one of the following would have to be in evidence.
· Conflict with national policies over important matters.
· Significant affects beyond the locality.
· Substantial regional or national controversy.
· Major architectural and urban design issues.
· Involvement with the interests of national security or of foreign governments.
The normal procedure is put the case in writing to the Planning Director at the Government Office for the region. Speed is of the essence since the “call-in” must be before the local planning authority determines the application.

Peel Holdings have submitted plans to Liverpool City Council for a huge development called Liverpool Waters.
Liverpool as some other parts of the country such as the Tower of London, Edinburgh and Bath, has been under huge pressure of recent dates and I am afraid to say a binge build mentality has taken over here in my home city.
I have kept the Caity Marsh and Peter Marsden of the DCMS informed.
UNESCO is fully aware of this proposed development, which is in the Liverpool Mercantile and Maritime City World Heritage Group.
In my opinion the current council leader Mr Joe Anderson does not want any further involvement from English Heritage who are advising that the scale and massing of the development that can harm the World Heritage Site.
He has stated this publicly.
In opposition he was a member of Liverpool Vision and several agencies, who in my opinion have made catastrophic mistakes that we called for public inquiries on.
Let me please explain the way it has worked in the past.
We write to the Secretary of State or in fact the Prime Minister, they then put it in the hands of the Regional Development Agency whose Chairman and members are very likely to be on the board of the developers, be they, public or private bodies and the request for public consultation is then suppressed by the GONW.
This approach has put Liverpool under a microscope with UNESCO.
This development meets all the criteria for A Public Inquiry perhaps you may be so kind as to take this into consideration and call in this development.

ARE UNESCO CORRUPT-Or Just Plain Stupid Ignorant Imbeciles.

Is Francesco Bandarin ignorant to the facts? Why has he turned a blind eye? Is Ron VanOers Michelle Bonnette who did the reactive monitoring mission in October 06 in on the scam to destroy Liverpool’s World Heritage Site? Did Caity Marsh at the DCMS pull the wool over their eyes or are they turning a blind eye to the destruction of Liverpool’s World Heritage Site because the UK Government through the DCMS has provided 20% of the funding for Unesco? Where Peter Marsden, ask him, peter.marsden@culture.gsi.gov.uk   has played politics with our heritage and what should have been our best asset the WHS and all it could be for the future. So now the kickback and the unflattering recognition begins this time by BD magazine who awarded Liverpool the Carbuncle Cup award for the Terminal Ferry Building, http://www.bdonline.co.uk/story.asp?sectioncode=430&storycode=3147432&channel=783&c=2 this time highlighting the disgusting mess that is unfolding before UNESCO's eyes http://www.bdonline.co.uk/story.asp?storycode=3161475  The picture above is the governments statement on the Historic Environment 2010 showing Liverpool............as it was.... which is now been allowed to be destroyed by the corrupted officials compliant with world heritage disaster.................They really cant be that stupid can they all. Are they not supposed to be clever people there because of their architectural and historical knowledge. Why have they all conspired against us.

This is the reality that BD highlight the mess unfolds while our World Heritage Officer of Space John Hinchliffe stands idly by http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2010/02/john-hinchliffe-liverpools-world.html and Henry Owen-John http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/05/henry-owen-john-english-heretic.html of English Heretics turn a blind eye right under the nose of head honcho, the Saville Row Bazooka Joe Dr Simon Thurley. http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/search/label/Simon%20Thurley
Just look at the way English Heretic have not woken up to reality yet as the use the same old image http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/server/show/nav.19322 to promote world heritage sites.....this is wrong.

And they all watch as the Reichmarshal Nigel Lee our Chief Planning Disaster http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/12/liverpool-planning-its-pantomime-nigel.html runs riot.

http://condensedthoughts.blogspot.com/2010/04/desecration-row.html Some get the level of the disaster but at Trinity "Smoking" Mirrors Group they are..well educated ignorant people really who have let us down badly. Bill Gleeson has an excuse he has bad sight, but the rest of them have no excuses for what has unfolded in front of our eyes, the slant they have projected is ignorance.
Others say they have done nothing illegal. I disagree, they have allowed themselves to be corrupted by the power they possess. They may not have taken cash or done anything illegal, all mentioned have sold their souls......shame on all concerned and watch the backlash begin as the world realises what we have done.

Liverpool World Heritage Disaster-A City in Denial

Liverpool's waterfront to be scrutinised at World Heritage Committee
Jun 19 2009 Liverpool Daily Post

THE changing face of Liverpool’s waterfront will come under the spotlight at meeting of the international body that gave the city its World Heritage status.
Government officials have drawn-up a report about the city’s progress as a conservation site for a crucial get together of Unesco’s World Heritage Committee in Seville, between June 22 and 30.
The meeting is especially significant, given the massive redevelopment that has been undertaken in the city.
Liverpool’s world heritage site will be among dozens of landmark sites being discussed.
Heritage campaigners against the redevelopment of land alongside the Three Graces fear the likes of the new Liverpool museum could see the city lose its heritage status.
Proposals for a 34-storey building at Princes Dock, another development close to the Liver Building and a 54-storey tower on the site of the former King Edward pub, could also jeopardise the city’s title, they say. But the Daily Post understands this is unlikely.
The report compiled by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport into Liverpool’s heritage site ordered by Unesco – the body responsible for protecting iconic sites – for the meeting said: Unesco’s own 2006 mission to Liverpool found:
Several projects such as the Paradise Project were contributing to bringing the heritage site, which was deemed to be fragmented, together;
The museum was not an imminent threat to the site;
The commercial development on the Mann Island site would not compromise the value of the site.
With regard to the 34-storey Princes Dock development, DCMS believes that it would not damage the value of the heritage site, although it accepts there would be some impact on views from the north, and says that English Heritage had no objection to the Liver Building Plot.
A decision has not yet been made on the planning application for the tower on the King Edward site.
Two years ago, there was huge debate about whether the city would be stripped of World Heritage Status.
But, at a global meeting in New Zealand, in 2007, Unesco ruled the proposed Pier Head development did not threaten the “universal value of Liverpool’s maritime mercantile city world heritage site”. However, it did order another report and made recommendations.
Wayne Colquhoun, chairman of Liverpool Preservation Trust, said: “The best views in Liverpool are being obliterated.
“Unesco could strip us of that title and we don’t deserve it, the way it’s being desecrated.”
Cllr Berni Turner, Liverpool Council’s Executive member for the environment, said: “We are taking every step to protect the World Heritage site but the whole point of World Heritage isn’t that we stop new development, it means it has to be of good quality and standard.”
Well it almost writes itself today except the facts don't quite stack up. Ms Turner says we are alright if we build good quality design. Well if the very people who comment on matters of international importance understood anything about design we would be. alright.
http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/04/milton-keynes-on-sea.html Look at the above pictures of the same view unfolding...clever eh!
The supplementary planning document has been buried despite Unesco ordering more debate on matters important to the public of Liverpool and further afield.
http://www.liverpool.gov.uk/Images/tcm21-149053.pdf This is like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted
The Daily Posts editor Mark Thomas comments seems to be sticking up for all the developments that the very papers journalists themselves have criticized for years. I think he is putting a brave face on it all. http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/liverpooldailypost/ourview/columnists/larryneild/tm_method=full%26objectid=17811986%26siteid=50061-name_page.html

WHY ARE UNESCO SO INEFECTIVE

Why are UNESCO allowing Liverpool to do this to its world heritage site.

Is it because the DCMS has a permanent delegation to UNESCO and they are both colluding to pretend nothing is wrong.
Surely you cant get away with this. Imagine building Three monstrous blocks of flats and a giant skateboard ramp in front of the Taj Mahal or the Pyramids.

Why are UNESCO wearing blindfolds. Surely they are educated people who understand architecture and can see that Liverpool's best views are being destroyed right in front of their blindfolds. WAKE UP UNESCO BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.

SUPERLAMBANANA-LAND

Knock me down with a feather.........Clever Trevor.

All the recent fuss regarding the designs of the Superlambanana (sic) hundreds of the little blighters, the new Liverpool icon were placed all over the city.
While we forgot about our Liver birds.
It just keeps rattling on but does anyone remember the very first design applied to the beast.
Piloti wrote in Private eye April 05 Nooks and Corners
On Friday the 4th February the DCMS contacted the Liverpool City Council about the (listing of) building which was speedily pulled down the following weekend.
Not a remarkable building but the interesting point about this (application for listing) case was that the firm of Joseph. P. Lamb & Sons established in 1784, is owned by Sir Trevor Jones who used to be the leader of the council at the time of the Toxteth riots.
His wife is a councillor and just happens to be the chair of the planning committee.
But obviously there is no possible conflict of interest here. Sir Trevor sold the building on to a developer.

This 17ft sculpture of yes a cross between a lamb and a banana and I am sorry to learn it was recently graffiti-ed with "Trevor destroys what the Lutwaffe didn't" and "Trevor and Doreen partners in slime" This seems very unfair. After all it is the Derek Hatton era everyone is fearful of returning to, not the Trevor Jones.
